You have got me thinking about how to get multi uses with my stoves and canteen cups. I have not yet come up with any one unit or combination that I will take everywhere everytime. This comes close as anything in the all in one category.
@bushcraftmaster12201 Simple Cinnamon Bread: 1 c. All Purpose Flour, 1/3 c. Powdered Milk, 2 Tbl. Spoons Sugar, 3-4 Tbl. Spoons Cinnamon, 1 heaping Tbl. Spoon Baking Powder. Add enough water to mix into a dough, add raisins if wanted at this point. Place in cupcake cups or oiled pan, then bake at 350°F (if at home) or until done (if on the trail). Makes 4-6 muffins :-)
The lid of the altoids tin could also work as a pretty nice signal miorror if you shine it up, The grilltop stove is epic do you have a video showing how you make it?
@bushcraftmaster12201 This was just a prototype, so I unfortunately did not film the build process. Now that I know it works and works well, I will be making another one! If you are interested, I will film the process and give all the measurements of all my cuts during the build. This one was just an "on the fly" build and I didn't make any "true" measurements, I just eyeballed everything. :-)
hey there friend it is easy to see that you are having a ton of fun with your kit/kits. keep enjoying your stuff and coming up with new ideas. this is how every big company ever got started.
I like your Mod for the wood burning aspect. It was odd to hear my stove mentioned as the commercial version though. We are pretty Mom and Pop Here :)
Bub- Absolutely one of the most versatile stove sets ups out there. Kudos on your ingenuity brother!!! I'm making one. Would you recommend I drill some holes on the side of the stove at different heights, to allow the canteen cup to sit at different heights making it adjustable rather than cutting the rectangular slots on the side? This would allow me to simmer at the top most setting wouldn't it?
@wgfarmer If you have the tools and patients to drill the holes in that thick Stainless Steel, I say that's a great idea, you should go for it! I dare say you'd need a drill press to do it correctly though. I was going to drill holes in mine, but after 20 minutes of bogging down my A/C powered DeWalt hand drill and dulling a drill bit, I went to the Dremmel with a metal cutting wheel. If it winds up you can't drill holes, perhaps cutting horizontal slots on the sides would work too. Have Fun!
Hi Bub! Lots of consideration and testing in that system. Maybe a little risky in case the burning alcohol accidentally swashes out of the Altoids box.
@steintanz There is always that risk of knokinh the alcohol stove over while burning. That's why I originally placed the insulation in it. I have used open burning alcohol stoves before without any saftey features, like the SuperCat and the Tea Light Stove. Despite my clumsiness, I have not knocked one over yet. :-) You just have to be careful and mindful while using them, though. They are actually fairly safe. You could leave the insulation in the tin and remove it only if needed.
Hey Bub, That stove came out great brother, and so many uses. Wish I would have been there to break bread with you my friend. Thank you so much for a really great video and stove........Tom 10*s all the way!
@1620416204 Wish you were here too, brother. Perhaps one day we shall meet on the trails somewhere. When we do, I shall be sure to break bread with you, my friend!
I like you, cool stuff, subbed.

Great vid for a lid you could cut some metal just a shade smaller than the top of the cup and make 2 holes in the middle to fit a wire handle.
I was gonna by a bcb but now I'm gonna make the burner the same as you just get an extra cup and cut it.
Happy trails
