I am SO sorry to hear of your loss. We lost our Ekkie boy to PDD. He had been through a lot before we got him ): It is so hard to lose a beloved parrot. We have a Timneh that flies to me so I am harness training him so I can take him for walks. He is a re-home. We have a female ekkie who will never fly. She hates it and she came to us as a plucker, but she is super sweet and her and my husband are in love. (:
Jinja has been missing for a year come the 27th of Feb. 2012. I have three african greys 1 CAG and 2 TAGS in which neither one will ever replace Jinja. Thank you for your thoughts bigmodaco.
@greyduck68 I am so sorry for your loss of Jinja! I would not know what to do if I ever lost one of my birds! I too have let my 2 parrots grow in their flight feathers and know they are so happy flying around the house. However I know they could easily fly away from one simple instant mistake and be gone forever. Sometimes clipping is the safest and best option but it would kill me to clip them again as I know they are so happy fully flighted.
Jinja was only a couple of years old when I took this video. She was not sick or ill she was just shedding her feathers. In this video she didn't have all of her flight feathers. However in 2010 into the first part of 2011 she was fully flighted with no loose down feathers. Long story short she was very healthy and as of february-27-2011 she got away from me and flew out of my house and I haven't seen her since. It really hurt me because I raised her from a chick. she was 5 years old.
i believe an african grey parrot is a favourite among people but I'm getting a lesser sulphur crested cockatoo.a smaller one among the cockatoo but for people who doesn't have enough space like my home. :) p.s.this is a not rude comment but for those who wanna have some parrots!
hahaha awww he/she is sooo young and small and thats sooo adorable!! :3
