Yes, a good shot and a good one-touch pass here. But this doesn't come close to a good performance of a good midfielder. I've watched some other games of his, too, and I think he can't quite dribble or make creative passes. If Gerrard or Lampard did what he did in this game - maybe plus some not-bad long shots - and England didn't win, then, you can imagine, the media and "fans" would call him underwhelming, or worse.

Yeah, we have an amazing depth of talent right now. It's not just the current national players. There are even more guys who have the potential to be top quality international players. Watch out for Andre Schürrle, Lewis Holtby and Marco Reus. Those guys will be scary good in 1 or 2 seasons.
