The Japanese are hunting whales because they found the loop hole that you can hunt whales for scientific research. They SAY they are doing research, but clearly you can tell they are harvesting and selling meat illegally. This needs to stop. Whales are an endangered species that have just as much right to be here as anything else! The fact about this is that it is not necessary to be hunting these whales. We already have enough meat products out there, where we are killing innocent creatures to make it a luxury for us.

It is not that cows, chickens, etc. are less important. It is the fact that they are trying to prevent one less species from being consumed.

also,a majority of the whaling is done in the australian whale sanctuary. which the japanese don't recognize as a sanctuary.

it is also not just a matter of how the meat tastes or the fact that these creatures are endangered.

it is also the ignorance of the japanese whalers to recognize that they are whaling in the australian whale SANCTUARY! whereas a sanctuary generally means a safe haven for those who need it. Unfortunately for these whales their sanctuary isn't being recognized and therefore their lives are being taken as a result.
