Rusty Cooley (and presumably the like you refer to also) is a musician, I think you'll find he knows his theory etc. Why do people scorn on fast guitar playing, playing fast is a form of expression - you don't have to have loose technique and technically inaccurate playing like Hendrix did to be a musician. What happened to the days when the best players were actually considered the best players - nobody held Bach's virtuosity on the harpsichord against him.

I can see your point and I respect that. It's just that when I hear Rusty Cooley (or similar guitar players) I don't FEEL anything. I agree that he is very skilled at playing guitar and I'm sure he knows his theory but I have no emotional response to the things he does on guitar whatsoever.
