i was told that they put a barge that looks like a pier, parallel to pier 17, closer to the brooklyn bridge. amazing to see great computer graphics - NYC in ruins. they did a great job.

The film was called I Am Legend because Neville was a "legend" to the darkseekers. A singular, biological monstrosity to the "normal" species around him, that hunted down darkseekers for no apparent reason. Notice in the movie Neville says "Social de-evolution appears complete. Typical human behavior is now entirely absent." To the darkseekers, it is Neville who has devolved and is devoid of typical behavior. Not vice versa. He is a last human hold-out against the new social order. A legend.

Part of the film storyline is that you don't know if it's just the city or the whole world.

And his wife and child were killed in a helicopter crash whilst evacuating the city.

They should make another: One of the book. The film is good but it missed the point altogether as far as the original storyline is concerned.

It doesn't actually stipulate at any point in the film if it is the whole world or not. Robert Neville obviously believes it's the whole world but he also denies the existence of the survivor camp, so the info the film gives you only extends as far as Nevilles knowledge. There's no way he can know if it's the whole world or not... he can hardly put the news on to find out can he?

Although Will Smith is a good actor I think they really messed up on the portrail of Robert Neville. He's supposed to be an angry alcohlic struggling to figure out what happened and tring to cope with being alone, not some scientist who has a full understanding of what happened. They turned this movie into just another action film when it should have been a psychlogical film about survival. And the ending was just weak.
