  • he sang this last saturday when i went to his concert. It was definately the highlight of my night

  • he sang this song his version like someone said u could hear a pin drop....a legendary singer whom even my mother aged 85 loves all songs of engerlbert

  • i don't think he's good at all.

    i don't like that version.

james has this emotion, he gives it a special feeling, when i listen to james,i cry every single time, 'cause it touches me. this version is just bad. but okay, that's my opinion.

and by the way i think is absolutly out of rythm.

    mhpf

  • Saw him sing this in concert. You could hear a pin drop in the hall. The audience was mesmerizezed. One of the best performances that I have ever seen. Thank you Enge for all your great songs and shows that you put all your heart and soul into . you truly are the last of the romantics.xxxxxoooooooooo!

  • Thank you for your comment's.I envy...I was at his show only once in Moscow in 2003.He is the dearest to my heart person about 40 years...

  • Only Engelbert could sing this song with such emotion and intensity. He can take any song and make it his.

  • ENGELBERT- the best. He turns every song into a work of art.... thanks for posting, and thanks engelbert for singing..........

  • I am a naughty? ho! i

  • No offense to the other party, but Engelbert's version is the best.. He puts more meaning into the song.

  • What is the name of this song? does he have it in any of his album's (CD's)

  • THE NAME IS GOODBYE MY lOVER, AND ITS ON HIS WINDING ROAD CD

  • Thanks for commenting on this video. Glad you guys like Engelbert's version of this.. He has such a beautiful tone and so much class in his voice doesn't he!!

  • Enge has given me (us) sooo much pleasure over so many years now. Fell in love with him at the age of 10 and still love him and always will. Always in my heart; thank you so much Enge and thanks also to your family! Do come back to England sometime soon. Love you XX

  • This is so beautiful. Thank you Enge for singing this song. It touches my heart.

  • i love this song he's truly the best of the best

  • Just love the way Engelbert sings it. He has such a wonderful voice.

  • Heard him sing this many times last year and I knew it would be the best on his new CD. Listened to James Blunt sing it and I have to say Engelbert puts so much of himself into it as he does all his songs.Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!

  • heard Engelbert sing this at his concert in Lancaster ...you cannot help getting tears in your eyes..he puts his heart and soul into his music and touchs you as only he can..

  • This is such a beautiful song, and Engelbert sings the words with such feeling, certain songs are definitely made for him, the emotion and feeling, he touches our inner soul, love this man always and forever.

  • James Blunt's mum was thrilled that Engelbert recorded one of her son's songs.Found this information in the booklet of Enge's fantastic new album "The Winding Road" :-)

  • All the comments seem to want to compare......Each artist has his own rendition of a song and thats what makes it great to hear. I think its complimentary to sing another artists music!!

  • Engelbert just delivers a song in such a

special way. It goes in your ears and then

    sinks into your soul.

  • James Blunt wrote the song-there are no versions, just one-thats James Blunt.

  • he is just great. i even love blunts version of this song but engelbert puts much more feelings in it. and his voice is amazing!!! Even he is not the the man he used to be anymore i still love him and his music

  • No, he is not the man he used to be, but as the years take our youth away, who is? How can one be 70 yrs. old and still look 40? I'll bet inside, where it counts, he is still the same man.

  • This is done beautifully as only Engelbert can do it.

By the way, Engelbert writes beautiful poetry. He

used to read some on his website. I wish he would

start doing it again.I hope he never gets rid of

his sideburns. He started that fashion statement

at the beginning of his career. Others copied from

    him.

  • I too listened to Blunts version and even though its his original, Engelbert sings it so much better with lots of feelings.

  • Amazing version of this song, Engelbert made it his own! Thanks for posting!

  • no one can sing a BLUNT song but Blunt! Its rude to even try! Blunt is the greatest writer, poet, singer, artist of all times!

  • OH PLEASE! i just heard blunt's version and he sounds like a child compared to engelbert, but then again engelbert IS old enough to be his grandpa lol but still.

  • Blunt is good but Engelbert's version sounds much different. James Blunt should be honored that such a legendary singer like Engelbert decided to cover his song...they're both British as well :D

  • Hahahaha.. I guess he wanted to keep his little classic bit of hair.

  • Sideburns rule.

  • Those sideburns have got to go,That was then this is now .
