It is a shame that WMG ( what ever that is?) would not authorize the sound on your presentation. I assume thta this antenna is directional. If so, If I made three of them and tied them together in a triangular formation that I would get better reception form the stations in my area?

I made three double antennas without the grill for three TVs (two analog with converter box and one digital TV). No digital signals were picked up before and with the double antannas I get digital signals from 27 to 56 miles away.

Can I split off my roof-top antenna? cuz I heard this isn't real good for vhf? Would having rooftop and 'weather proof coathanger' split together up there be better or just runnin' the homemade antenna be better? Anyone else have trouble getting vhf with this? Thanks in advance.

I tried this and found that the top and bottom pairs made little difference, and in fact the antenna worked better without them.. anyone with similar experience or a reason why or what the error I made could be?

What's the grill used for on the antennae? For safety? So you don't poke eyes out or capture radio waves better?

The grill is a reflector which gives some gain and directivity to the antenna. :)

I want to thank for you nice video. I have a question for you. On a db8 do you put 3 transformers and after that a two way splitter, and with a triangular antenna you use 3 transformer and than a three way splitter, right?

You can use a 1 to 3 spliter in reverse, they work just like a 3 in 1 transformer "balum"

The disposable grill topper acts as a reflector, there for reflecting the noise it would receive from the back of the antenna.

Yes, you may not be able to tell a difference, but some days you WILL be able to tell a difference. You don't have to use a the grill toppers you can use chicken wire or use you imagination and think the possiblities that would make a good reflector.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply Yes, you could use a board w/tin foil, but it does not last as long as the grill topper or chicken wire or wire fence, all of these work the best helps with the air to flow by....

Does the reflector have to touch anything other than the bolts that touches the wood?

NOTE: Do you reccommend using the same bolts that holds the front side of the antenna to hold the back side as well. Like, the bolts are keeping the front side intact, while the back side is using the same bolts to hold the reflector. May I please know, because i want to know if it improves in quality or not.

If you are in a neighborhood with moderately strong signals,the antenna might work.But you are wasting your time installing the antenna inside in a poor-signal neighborhood.Most successful antennas are within 20mi of the transmitter.(30mi often works if you are on a hillcrest.)

1. The antenna might not be high enough above obstacles outside the house such as trees.

2. It is hard to estimate the signal loss caused by the wood and other construction materials.

3. Metal objects in the house can block the signal.

This antenna is weatherproof, because of the antenna being made of copper rather than a coathanger (Steal). You can make this from aluminum or "stainless" steel, but copper wire is more common to come across.
