  • @billybadassyeah

that literally makes no sense... songs EXPLODE due to rockband

  • this song id freakin awesome :DDD

  • love this song! minus the bear has my heart forever!!

  • Menos El Oso

  • keep this beautiful song off rockband or guitar hero. fuck dat!

  • fuck no..putting this on anytype of rockband or guitar hero would just fuck up great mtb songs

  • @billybadassyeah selfish!

  • love these guys so much, such a great song, even afta all these years its still amazing

  • These guys create music that is beautiful!

  • my fav. mtb song

however the acoustic version is tons better IMO

  • I love how the exploding sponge-like things in the video are those capsules you put in water and they turn into animals and such. It's like, water+dollar store toys=music video.

  • I longboard to this song

  • esta poca madre esta rola

  • i seriously cant find one song that sucks from mtb..ive been looking. just heard them today and cant stop listening!

  • These guys have so much talent and I love their style its that feel good music that seriously we lack in our music culture today but as you all know if you're not rapping about how much money you have or how many ho's you've slept with or god forbid your damn shoes its not worth paying attention to.

  • there is definitely some serious talent with these guys they deserve much more recognition than they get. They have several other good songs as well as this one.

  • @jermainekiel several good songs is an understatement, man. these guys have never put out an album that was anything less than outstanding. hell, i've never heard a song of theirs' that wasn't incredibly good.

  • <3

  • MENOS EL OSO<3

  • Why are people like Lil Wayne recognised, but these guys aren't? Media culture these days is sickening.

  • @Clayez94

Because people have terrible musical taste nowadays. Minus the FUCKING Bear!

  • Is it sad that the only thing I was thinking about the whole time was what those freaking capsule things made?!?! :p Love this song though

  • @DavidChoiDrumz I agree man, they are uber talented but whenever I mention their name I just get blank stares.

  • @lovetohoop2003 you're hanging out with the wrong people then.

  • i hate how nobody realizes how much talent these guys have..

  • @DavidChoiDrumz Unfortunately only suicidesqueezerecords has good taste in music. Man if i were a recording company they would be number 1

  • i saw them at the wiltern yesterday

    sooo amazing

  • what an amazing song. great guitar sound too

  • "Discovered"... This isn't some group of tweens in a garage in rural Wisconsin.

  • foooookin awesome

  • I used to lay in bed and listen to this all night until the sun came up.

  • Comment removed

  • obvious bearded troll is obvious

  • Minus the Beard, eh? Neat name...although I have a beard and cannot endorse the band name.

  • Its like ska meets atmospherey art rock.

  • Seriously one of my favorite bands their new album just made me love them even more than I normally do and I just love how unique and original their music is!

  • blow job lulz

  • Some guy i was talking to on Xbox live told me to look them up a few years back. thankyou whoever that was. you've introduced me to a great band.

  • i wrestled a bear once..... so this band had to be made because of the lack of the bear

  • @cameron33324 Iwrestledabearonce is actually a name of a band, i'm not even fucking kidding.

  • @olderman1111 ...that's why i made the statement broski ;D

  • @olderman1111 they are a kickass metal band :)

  • I was told to look this up. I like it its pretty awsome, no matter what they look like they CAN SING! love it(:

  • They played this song live at Sonic Boom Record store in Captiol Hill Seattle to kick off National Record Day, and I had the privilege of going. They played it so well, I'm almost tempted to say it was better than the recorded version! Was anyone else at that show? :))

  • cruisin'

  • Arriva los TUZOS!!! Oh wait...

  • fuckin bomb ass motherfucking cockstalking song/video.

  • this video makes me sad...but it's beautiful

  • @april25lowry how the effff does this make you sad?

  • i find it amusing that nobody has even mentioned that fact that this video is straight up trippy.

  • what's the meaning of this song?

  • trip on some aderall, play skate 2, listen to this song..and your on top of the world.

  • @ashleySHIBBY If you even knew what a real trip was you would know you cannot trip on adderall

  • One of the best songs i've ever heard. No fucking doubt.

  • MATT DAMON RULEZ

  • ""Minus the Bear", Seattle's highly stylized indie-pop group." That's one way of putting it.

  • thanks pache! :))

  • AWESOME>>>>>>> its like Tom Vek And Editors put together

  • pleas don't make a comparison between this and Editors...it's much more like Dismemberment Plan or Postal Service or even this German band called Fotos.

  • The Postal Service? Minus the Bear is no wear near that soft and annoying. Listen to Planet of Ice. There's no comparison to be made to those Death Cab Wanna-be's.

  • ithere's defintely an element of death cab or postal service, city and colour in there. i love planet of ice...i'm not talking about the album or Minus the Bear as a band...just this song.

  • It just gets better with all of your ignorant comparisons. This sounds nothing like anything C&C has ever done. I feel like a sap having the same musical interests as 75% of the folks that posted comments on this video.

  • @Ubyte64 Why would you think that The Postal Service is a "Death Cab Wanna-be" group? Is it because the singer sounds the same? Well that because it is the same guy you dummy!

  • Well if the lead singer started a new group, wouldn't the point be to create a new sound? You Dummy!

  • its actually math music...look it up

  • it doesn't fit perfectly in mathrock genre, it has influences you can say that for usre...

  • *sure

  • Ehhhhh. Contrary to dustwind955813's comment about them being on Rock Band...

I don't think that'd be cool at all.

Then everyone would listen to them, and make them cliche over time. I don't want Minus The Bear to be ruined by a big population of people.

Plus, I love them because they are musically gods. Not because they appear on a game a play. Get what I'm saying?

I don't like mainstream music that much, so I guess I just don't want MTB to eventually become mainstream.

  • i hate it when some of my favorite bands get super popular and everyone is quoting there songs and it does make them cliche

  • So if they become mainstream, then you wouldn't like them? I don't think your "love" for them is that strong then. You should be happy if they went mainstream because their music that you "love" would be experienced by more people so that they too can "love it."

  • IKILLGIANTS, oh mai gash!, someone else who sees it like i do. yep, if you're worrying about who will end up listening to your favorite band[s], then you're not listening to them solely for their music...

  • so your saying if they go mainstream by doing what they are doing and keep doing it they wont be musical gods anymore? if they go big embrace them.. be happy to know you loved them before they got big...

  • what's wrong with mtb going to broader audiences, if you're worried about that then you're really not listening to them just for music alone are ya? if they don't end up compromising their music [as in they don't change their sound or how the tracks come out like usual] it makes no difference to me who can listen to them and who can't...

  • @Alaydenify

    I feel exactly the same!

  • Its all symbolism.

Indie music is good because its all very well thought out and put together. and this is coming from someone who plays death metal for a living.

  • Used to hate indie music. Props to the Bear for reviving the genre for me.

  • thanks for this vid man

  • This song was featured in Props Road Fools 14.

Watching dudes tear up NYC to this song was awesome :D

  • what does this video have to do with the song?!

    lol

  • i don't know if kush goes better with this song or sourd d.

  • this song does something to me,..

  • they need this on like rockband.... it might get them some much deserved attention

  • @dustwind955813 Ya they are soo freaking talented. It's amazing..Sometimes I think they don't want so much fame..just to be bad ass musicians

  • @dustwind955813

rock band would kill them :/

  • @dustwind955813 we dont want mtb to sell out yo.

  • @nkmcquain imma have to say i disagree with the whole "selling out" view on it... just because a band is popular, doesnt mean its worse then when it wasnt.....

  • @Wejrdfish1 yes it does. when a band decides to change its style just to get popular, they get worse. Bloc party is good example. silent alarm = best album ever and intimacy = worst album ever.

  • @dustwind955813 Agreed! With many of their songs, if not all of them!

  • @dustwind955813 .. that is a horrible idea.. theyre already fucking great enough... Rockband would ruin that for them.... and I really cant believe you "like" in typed speech

  • @dustwind955813 but then they would be on rockband...

  • @dustwind955813 na, man.

people don't deserve to hear something this good.

they would turn them into shit, like they'redont with every other good band out there.

  • @dustwind955813 let them get discovered without something like that. their other songs would be appreciated more.

  • What are those things expanding in the water in the video?

  • spounges. you buy them and theyre in like little capsules that you put in warm water and they expand.

  • Im going to see them in november in Lawrence KS

    WOOT

  • this is a damn good song but i like the acoustic version a little more

  • this song is great. <3

  • Sour d too.

  • heheh sounds easy listenin:)

  • The effects they use on all their instruments is so eclectic...like all of their songs.

  • So this song is basically about a man being in a beautiful place, so beautiful that he wants his girlfriend to experience it too, though she's far away. So he tries to ''put it into tune and move it to her?''

    Help!!

  • yeah, thats pretty much it

  • This video is beautiful.

  • Minus the FUCKING Bear

  • hahahah

  • I like listening to this song before I go to school

  • at least..

  • i smoke kush to this song 7 times a day

  • Lucky bastard, I wish I had enough to kush to smoke it seven tmes a day. Then again, I wish I had kush period... Fuck it, I wish I had weed period. Anyway, I hope you get to keep your kush-consuming up.

  • lmaoooooooo spread the love bruh...spread the love

Weed is not a drug its a medicine -_-

  • hey i live in everett and i love thid band. do they tour in seattle??

  • The acoustic is wonderful too, but it has no delay unlike the original. :(

  • I listen to this song like at least 4 times a day :D

  • same :P hahaha

  • hmm.. first inpressions its like da other one but yea uhhm lol

  • this is beautiful

  • what was the first song in the beginning?

  • The acoustic version is wayy better

  • woah theres an acoustic version? WHERE

  • they have a cd out titled acoustics

  • @ 52 sec., does jake have a C tattoo on his wrist or whatever? does anybody know what that stand's for?

  • crawfish

  • Why crawfish?

    Is there a reason?

    Thanks.

  • this is one of my favorite songs by MTB.

  • gah, why can i NEVER find MTB aaanywhere in the uk?

    poo

  • Undeniably beautiful

  • how dare you all negative pinkhippies post. MUSIC IS MATH.

  • the "don't cry" part is pretty catchy

  • Sounds like Matt Pond PA

  • What the hell, when did youtube get a audio preview button haha?!

  • HAHAH I was thinking the same thing! I keep clicking it accidently.

  • <333 thank you bryan for making me listen to this.

  • What Genre Are They?Sounds Good

  • indie/alternative maybe easy listening too lol

  • Post Rock

  • good.

  • i think they r also math rock, or was the a little like rhetoric, forgot, well they r good also, check them out:D

  • nooooo definently jazzzzzzzz

  • i have a cuestion! why Pachuca Sunrise?? Pachuca is a city of México, answer me please.

  • I'm not sure but I think it matches there album, Menos el Oso, which is Spanish for Minus the Bear.

  • Pachuca is also a name for a lifestyle in Mexico it has a similar meaning to mobster so if you dress in a pachuca style you were mafia style clothing maybe this will help

  • Addicting song :)

I totally adore the guitar riffs :)

  • hmm whene I listened to this song before I saw the video, I depicted it in a totally different way. =/ oh well. everyone has their own point of view.

  • slicebagerooni you suck ass and obviously cant appreciate good music.

  • What the fuck is math rock

  • math rock is a ridiculously stupid term for Progressive rock or rock that has technical guitar parts.

  • no, math rock is music that has awkward time signatures, like:

    tera melos

    don caballero

    the fucking champs

    hella

    ghosts and vodka

    slint

    etc etc etc

math rock is a legitimate term.

but minus the bear isn't math rock.

  • dude i love you

  • why must we term everything? It's just good alternative music.

  • judging by all the overlapping polyrythems and quick switching time sigantures im gonna go with math rock.

  • Minus the Bear hates u too slicebagerooni

they dont need noobs like u anyway

  • ill admit that alot of the songs they make eventually run together, but they're not going with this sound because it's "fashionable" or the "cool thing". i highly doubt this sound has been "in style" for 6 or 7 years. just my opinion though so believe what you want.

And it is a bit of math rock since they do have some time changes in songs.

  • and what exactly is math rock?

  • To imraw17: Math Rock is simply a label. Nothing more.

Unfortunatly "Indie" has become a label as well, rather than a idea.

And if you really want to pigeonhole these guys I think they fall somewhere near Music.

  • if it makes you feel good listen to it. if not, don't. stop over intellectualizing everything.

  • You're really dumb, and probably know nothing about music/music theory.

BTW, Most of these guys have been making this music/related music before this became popular.

  • dude your a fucking hater man minus is the shit, dont hate cus they are doing something positive and good with theyre lives and making a good living while you prolly sit at home on your moms computer being dickmouth and envying every one elses lives whos seem to have more value than yours, i love seattle i live in this beautiful city, and i love minus the bear, all in all im just trying to say maybe you should be more open minded and think about the positive

  • Doesn't really sound like you are, although I agree with you 100%.

  • there math rock

  • awesome.

  • sounds like a seattle band.

    whether that's a good thing

or not is one's own opinion.

this is ok though. i'm not

    hating. don't get it twisted.

  • Minus the bear is an AWESOME band!!

  • I saw them live at the time I just liked them. I only went because I got a free enterance but There whole set blew me away this song live is the best!

  • maurag man!

  • maurag man!

  • Amazing song. They are like fucking indie indie. Indie/Pop?,Indie Rock,Math? Who cares what they make sweet music.

  • Oo i heard a remixed version of this song by alias.

  • indie pop?? I think that's very disrespectful. Minus the Bear is so much more than indie pop

  • I just realized that this band has my initials.

  • exciting!
