  • Awesome. I used to listen to this at my Dads in Manhattan when I was a kid. Lime in the coconut too....Good stuff Good memories...

  • everytime i watch this it never makes me sad, i just remember when times and life was better!!

  • Pirrung123,

I have always been fond of this song, but you have brought if to life for me. You obviously have a beautiful family (& friends), and somehow it waxes universal. I will continue to watch your video (and have watched it) again and again.

  • lots of memories flood back with this song.good and bad. thanks harry.

  • something about old photos are sad. seing black and white photos of kids and people who are long gone is sad

  • This song is so pretty.

  • pirrung123, thanks for remembering such an amazing and gifted talent and human being. His music sinks to the abyss of my soul and the apogee of my hearts rejoicing. His touch of humanity expressed the full breath of what it was to be origional and yet so common to who we all are. I believe he makes the case for a heavenly afterlife. No one deserved it more. God speed Harry. Thanks again pirrung123.

  • Thank You And Your Welcome :o)

  • Such a beautiful and poignant song; it always brings tears to my eyes...and I loved the photos. :-)

  • Thanks :o)

  • I posted this on my Fbook today to remember all those who were lost on 9/11 ten years ago. I said that, in that instant before death, all of us see the same snapshots of our lives....friends, family, dogs we have loved.

I might also mention that I knew Harry Nilsson.....and this song is the one I hear in my head always when I think of him.

  • His songs will last the end of time......... so pure so soul searching..... his heart is always in his music... and i thank him for it....

  • What a song and what a singer. Harry was the only singer in his era I think could have pulled off the style of music he was into and make it work amid the rock n roll etc. He loved the old standards and used to sing them for his mom when he was little. Had it a bit rough when he was a lad from what I understand. I miss that guy and though I didn't even know him, my heart goes out to him. Thanks for posting this.

  • Who thought of "The Blue Fuse"? What a great name for a band! I'm going to steal taht one!

  • We were trying to of name for the band and one afternoon we were shooing off fire crackers and i opened a new pack and this pack had blue fuses on on it :o)

  • Cool pictures. I love how they repeat. It gives the song a dysfunctional tone, which is dope.

  • Thanks Apple :o)

  • you put the photos to this just beautifully....

  • Thankk you :o)

  • So very well done. (weeping weeping) I used same song for a video slide show for my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. You really have some amazing and sweet images. Love the photo booth pictures. Wonderful.

  • Thank you :o)

Thank you for up-loading this lovely video.

  • Hi Pirrung123....thanks for taking the time to agree......birds of a feather as they say....:) Enjoy the upcoming Independence Day !!!!!!

  • :o)

  • I cry like baby whenever I am brave enough to listen to this sweet song.........did you love your parents? if so then "remember"......can you still dream of your children as young sweet innocents then "remember"... did you once love a partner and they are no longer there..then "remember" this song is so heartfelt that it turns me inside out with feelings of love long lost yet always "remembered" ."life is nothing but a Dream" Thanks Harry...we will miss you forever and will always REMEMBER.

  • All i can say Yes with every word that you said :o)

  • @landlord39douglas I totally agree with you. i stop whatever i am doing when i turn this on. i can actually feel myself getting inside each note/lyric. jackie

  • @79diehl ................Thanks Jackie, there's so much beauty in this world...and too many people asleep at the wheel to notice it...sad for them. I like your favorites...I am going through them and looking for songs/ artists I am as yet unaware of. • I have no idea what you are talking about ?

  • I was talking with a friend today, and we both agreed that the happiest memories all seem to be in the past....this song makes me cry like a baby..

  • @Mishi816 thats right. but tomorrow, today will be the past , wont it? so doesn't that mean that today will be all new happy memories to think about tomorrow? thats the optimistic view i guess

  • WHAT ARE YOU TALIKNG ABOUT.....YOU NUT

  • @TheBerserker50 this song is not a christian song? what are you talking about?

  • It is a curiosity: 6 people went to the trouble of posting "dislike" opinions. The song is beautiful, and the uploader has made a marvelous effort to share his memories and treasured parts of his life. What is there to dislike? I wish the dislikers had shared their reasons. No matter. My vote was "like", and I deeply appreciate the video. Many thanks.

  • Well Thank You ....and iam the uploader :o)

  • @maximustubulus I posted it!! and those who dislike must have a swinging brick for a heart!!! peace ♥

  • @maximustubulus mmm, they must have mistaken the thumbs down for a thumbs up... that is what I think.... may be bad eyesight or mouse coordination --- can be a number of reasons... who knows? ..have been listening to the song since -73...:) thanks

  • Brings a tear with every listen...for so many reasons.

  • Me to :o)

  • Beautiful song and I loved the pictures. Very tender. I hope these are happy memories for you.

  • @fietsvrouw I agree 100%. Beautiful song and pictures.

  • It's funny how we all seem to have the similar memories associated with this music. That's the power of a real human artist connecting with his (her) own truth, and not pandering to commercial fashion. So many lousy impostors. I'm not naming names but you know who you are...

  • Love this stuff. left a good comment a few minutes ago, but forgot to hit post:) LIfe can't be perpetual grief. We're made w/ a great sense of knowing life is good. Smile. the creator gave us humor & happiness. Who do you think taught us to laugh!?!

  • aah...harry nilsson...great, awesome talent...

  • My Hero :o)

  • aah...harry nilsson...great, awesome talent...

  • my husband just passed away 2 days ago. Thanks, this is like a gift.

  • awesome song by an awesome talent to bad there will be no more from Harry.

  • Get the movie...Who Is Harry Nilsson :o)

  • I love this song, because it touches my spirt. I have been in perpetual loss and grief. I am 58 years old. I realize now that as you grow older your circle of family and friends also began to grow smaller. People... stop taking life, and life situations so serious, because time is fleeting and so very precious. Enjoy the time that you have, because your life is like mist. Thank God I believe in John 3: 16 - 17. I believe the only way to eternal salvation is thru Jesus Christ, PEACE @ LOVE

  • So True :o)

  • @7252christian

    May I? (((((BIG OL' HUG))))))

  • @7252christian wow...thanks for messing with a dead mans message! can't you major religiuos assholes keep your shit to yourself. no one needs to be saved...you are born free and gorgeous...it is religion and culture that controls us and gives us this salvation garbage. no wonder you grieved for so long.

  • @TheBerserker50 something is wrong with you. inappropriate anger is the least of it, I think. I am not religious, but I can see that 7252christian is sincere and means well. that cannot be said for you: one who calls himself "berserker", but who shames himself in a public forum. I think, if you were a kinder person, life might treat you better. What do you think?

  • Something in my eyes....darn it.

  • Everytime :o)

  • 0:34...bob marley

    01:06...debbie harry

    01:15...italian barmaid from "cheers"

    you know some people.......

  • Lol Thanks :o)

  • Your video moved me. Thank you. KC

  • Harry, you'll never know what this song has meant to me. It's always been one of my favorites but I'll be 66 on the 28th and now it means so much more to me. So reminds me of my dad who died in 2002, and my mom in assisted living and not who she was but still treasures. Thank you for this... send you love and prayers and blessings...

  • Thank you so much for your kind words :o)

  • man, can this guy write,, or what?

  • One of my favorite singers and poet.He had such a great voice to listen to.Just listen to his anthology music. They don't make em like that no more.

  • This song reminds me of the "Mad Men" episode where Don pitches The Wheel to Kodak, changes the name to Carousel, and narrates the pictures of the best parts of his life.

  • Wow, your photos are reminding me of the old neighbor hood back in the day! These are great! Thanks!!

  • Wow.... You're friends with Bill Cosby!!! Now that's cool!

Beautiful song... One of my fave Harrysongs.

  • Thank you...my step father was Bill Cosby's couch at Temple ...they are still friends and Bill Cosby was the best man at the wedding :o)

  • @pirrung123

You lucky fella. I grew up (well, not exactly... I mean, who really wants to "grow up?") listening to Bill. He's tremendous... and... his first Network Show, The Bill Cosby Show (as opposed to the Cosby Show) was really an awesome show... and groundbreaking in so many ways!!! I have the two season on DVD from the Shout Factory. Yay!!!

  • @pirrung123

I was trying to figure out the chords to Remember... very interesting. Harry's songs are usually fairly simple (and gorgeous) but this one is odd. I know the basic chords, but I'm having trouble figuring out the voicings.

  • @pirrung123 His "coach", I assume.

  • Yes sorry Typo :o)

  • A beautiful and loving tribute.. Thanks for sharing.

  • 6 People Forgot.

  • Forgot What?

  • Thank you so much :o)

  • Oops! Sorry for the double post! I will gladly burn a copy of the aforementioned "For the Love of Harry" for the cost of postage. You won't be disappointed! Other artists include Steve Forbert - "The Moonbeam Song", Marshall Crenshaw - "Don't Forget Me", Brian Wilson - This Could Be the Night", The Roaches - "Spaceman" Jimmy Webb - "Lifeline" and more.

  • K@@L :o)

  • Been a Nilsonn for a looooong time. I picked up a CD in a cutout rack for $1called "For theLove of Harry: Everybody Sings Nilsson. It was put out '95 and produced by Al Kooper & Danny Kapilian. This song is done beautifully by Randy Newman on the album. Al does a knockout of "Salmon Falls" (my favorite Nilsson song). Other artists are Marc Cohn -"Turn on Your Radio", Joe Ely - "Joy" Ringo & Stevie Nicks - "Lay Down Your Arms", Carl Wilson et.al., - "Without Her" and many others. 23 songs!

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Have great memories!!!

  • What a great tribute! Thanks for posting!

  • people just dont know how perfect ALL of harry's songs are for heart felt movie sound tracks . movies that come close to his portrayal are " Scott Pilgrim" " dinner of schmucks" to name just 2

  • A Beautifull song, don't forget the piano player, Nicky Hopkins, the man who can turn piano keys into jewels

  • This is one of those songs every writer hopes to compose someday :)

  • Beautiful song, and well matched with those old pictures. Nicely done.

  • I wish I could be with him right now :/

  • I never knew I knew Nilsson until the movie "You've Got Mail" put it together for me. Everytime my wife put it on, I grew increasingly curious and finally tracked down a greatest hits or similar collection; wiki'd him and discovered I want to learn more about the artist.

My dad used to sing 'Put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up.' and we used to wonder where that came from. O' course, I found, but it was only this past summer. lol!

This makes my 'Favorite' list. Thank you!

  • Cool...Welcome to the club...and check out my song that i wrote about Harry :o)

  • @aboveriver I just learned about him watching a great movie, "Who's Harry Nilsson?". Amazing story and voice.

  • @autumnbowler Thanks! I tried checking out the library system for it, but no luck. I'll keep an eye out for it.

  • How can you love Harry and not know this song? Thats like saying you love John Lennon but never heard Imagine.

  • The Last Innocent Man was our Harry. Not who he was but what he represented. Like Marcello Mastroiani and Jimmy Stewart.

  • I love Harry' music. This is first time I have heard this one, though. I love the movie "The Point". I purchased it on DVD from CD Universe...superb quality. My 5 year old granddaughter has been enjoying this movie for over a year and watches it over and over again. It has a wonderful message for children. Actually, I remember when it first played on TV in the 70's and we all sat around the black & white and watched it.

  • Epic song

  • Harry Nilsson What a legend! The most awesome voice a great talented sadly gone.

Does anyone remember the animation "The Point" showed for a number of years around Xmas time?

  • I have the VHS tape of The Point :o)

  • @whakarongo100 i love The Point! you just made me remember it!

good bye oblio, good bye! so amazing.

  • @ClubHooray Hi thanks for your thoughts:-) This guy has a fascinating bio wiki's a good starting point if your interested.

  • @whakarongo100 "You don't have to have a point to have a point."

  • I was just watching a John Lennon interview where he mentioned Harry, I immediately had to hear this.
