Thank goodness the original Willie was replaced. The first one only lasted a few episodes, but based on what I saw of his performance he would not have done nearly so well portraying Willie's emotional complexity, especially that from after Barnabas' revival.

Willie expressed such a variety of conflicted emotions throughout the series, and John Karlen was really able to bring that out in his performance ^_^

Barnabas is awesome all we have now is wannabe vampires.. thanks to Barnabas we have been given another great vampire and that is angel.. dark shadows is one of a kind.. if u like the occult then you will love this!! i got every dvd of this entire series.. paid around 500 dollars.. so worth it!!

I was a kid in 1966/67 when Dark Shadows was on TV. I went crazy for it. Use to get so mad at my Mom (Rest in Peace, I love you and miss you) because I would get all ready to watch DS and then my Mom came in from the kitchen and changed the channel on me so she could watch the Mike Douglas show. LOL I loved DS.

@thecooldude111 I believe it's on DVD collection 2- it's where Maggie is escaping from the Old House- there's a sequence with Barnabas getting up, and she's escaping simultaneously as they show him going down the hall and her trying to get out of there. I just looked it up, and I'm pretty sure it's episodes 260-261 if that helps you any. There's also an instance where Maggie is going to stake Barnabas in his casket, which is just a few episodes before that. Hope that answers your question :D

Barnabas is just very more scarrier than all the old vampires. (: I've never seen the TV show but my mother has and she 's told me on what he's like. He's 175yr old. tHIS MOVIE IS GONNA BE AWESOME!

John Karlen and Jason Patrick were magic together. Johanthan Frid was at his best when Barnabas was BAD. All these actors deserved emmys as this was really scary before it became campy and Barnabas was turned into a good guy; my favorite time on Dark Shadows were the early episodes; great video, great memories, and great acting.

Willie belongs on a pedestal. We should all worship him for his being the only one in 172 years to unchain the best vampire of all! John Karlen is beyond brilliant; enough good cannot be said about his performance as the hapless victim, not only of Barnabas, but Jason as well. Frid is so compellingly chilling. Patrick plays the oily Jason to perfection, piano-key smile, and all. This trailer is pure genius. I concur with whitepanther07 regarding your technical prowess.

Thanks! Yes, Willie has always been my favorite character of the series. There's so many dynamics and layers to the character and John Karlen just brought him to life. I LOVE Jason McGuire as well- he seems like one of those crooked sales people who are charging you twice the amount worth. I was actually quite disappointed that the show had killed him off, but I suppose his character ran it's course. Dennis Patrick was amazing. Anyway, I had fun making this- so glad everyone likes it!
