This is a "spine tingling" song and it can't help but make the listener become as Pink Floyd wishes: comfortably numb. It is simply an amazing piece of work, and I can't offer any higher praise than that.

Besides, I don't need drugs to appreciate good music. If musicians have a scrap of integrity to who they are and what they do; it will shine through regardless of whatever substances may have been ingested by the listener. Drug use is just a matter of the listener's preference.

When you are high you hear things you normally don't hear, or the other way, you miss sounds. So, if you think its better its not because you listen to Pink Floyd the way it really is. Deal with it. There is no proven history of drug abuse by any Pink Floyd members after Syd Barrett.
