'Kin brilliant!!!! well done!! If only I'd have found this (possible???) a few months ago , could've put in a bid. I did ...or wouldn't believe it was possible!!
Very good bike, been thinking about doing something like this for a while, been reading some of the other comments and you say its roadlegal, I guess the bike has a Q plate I'm I right?
hello ron could you tell me what you had to do to get your bike legal with the dvla did it have to go to vosa for testing for road worthiness the reason im asking ihave seen a petrol engine pushbike for sale in the uk but they dont sell it as road legal ihave tried to get answers from dvla with no joy i just want to know if it was complicated and what you had to do to get it legal thanks
Ps ....Ron is now getting on a bit and is thinking of selling his bike ....It is fully road legal with number plate and all PASS paper work.
He is open to offers, but would say that you should do a little bit of home work before making him an offer as he has spent a lot of time and added a lot of extras to his bike .....Ron likes his shed and is good with his hands .....This just is not like any push bike with an engine.
You cant just go and buy an engine and put it on a push bike then take it out on the road ......The bike had to pass all the test set by DVLA and the police. To put it on the road you need to regester it as a new build and get it passed by DVLA .....Rons bike is now passed as a moped and does about 36mph, but it was not as easy as you might think to get it passed ...Ie tyres, mirrors...even the horn was a problem.
Yes i know it had to be passed by DVLA but once thats is done, do you have to be 16 or can you be lower like 15? and does it need insurance. I have done the research but no-where have answered my questions
Yes mate you need to be of legal age to drive a moped in the UK..... If you have already got a car licence or a moped licence then you could drive this on the road just like any 50cc moterbike.

Its classed by the DVLA as just another Moped or Scooter with a 50cc engine etc.
So the same rules are applied to this as would be to a moped.
Hope that helps you mate
