Shankeith, you should show the adapter entirely, not just the tip. That's how you tell if it's original or fake!  There's not much difference in box and appearance between real and fake. But the only way you'll know is whether the bottom part of the adapter or short(fake) or long (original) and the original will have a much much better sound quality.

@sensiblecritique Nah, they're real alright. Even if they're fake, he could always break his and get a new one from Monster. I broke mine last week, called Monster (long ass wait time) and the gave me the return authorization code, instruction and address. Now I'm waiting for a new pair, they only replace your headphone once though. They're durable for working out, blocks out ambient noises and deliver high sound quality. I prefer the Shure SE535 for serious sound quality though.

they sound awesome, but its all about the source, if your doing mp3s that are at 128kbps, you wont notice the difference, i playback flac files and 320kbps only, if your doing on the fly mixing/editing and want to preview on a laptop, these are awesome too
