My Best Friends mom just died and the last thing she did was hold her Mom in her arms and told her "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living my Momma you'll be." As a librarian I read a lot of books to little children during story hour. This is the ONLY one that had this effect on me. The first time and every subsequent time I read this book I cried.. sometimes a weepy fits and starts cry.. sometimes just tears rolling down my cheeks sometimes when reading to the children I'd keep a tissue handy for the inevitable tear.

Also, I doubt that she drove into the night, crawled into a grown man's window, crawled across his floor, picked him up, and rocked him.
