I live in Virginia. It shouldn't matter if the people live in that area. What should matter is the fact that people from all over the state came to stop and or slow down mountaintop removal. I wonder if the mountaintop guys would still be in favor if their own houses were threatened by mud slides or if their life and lives of their children or livestock were threatened by water contamination. It shouldn't be about how much money you can bring home in a week...
Each time I watch this video it breaks my heart to see the lack of compassion and respect for the people who live here in Southwest Va. We are the ones who see the destruction daily and the effects MTR has on our mountains. I've always wanted my children to grow up here in Appalachia where I was raised..enjoying the mountains like I did as a child. Hopefully they'll be given that chance. I'm so proud to be a coal miners daughter-the daughter of Robert Mullins. Thanks Dad for standing up for us!!
Mountaintop coal miners are a bunch of ASSHOLES! I want to take their jobs! LAZY ASSHOLES. They should go deep mining and find out what real work is.
AND, they should be required to get permits based on the new area and job. Why would anyone want this wholesale blanket destruction!?!?!? Did the Army core just totally steel the state?
Man, every time I hear these Boos, I think they are all a bunch of idiots. And I agree they were probably all paid, like riot cops, to stage a show of force.
Keep Blowing the Mountains Up and Killing the environment it wont be long you wont have your "Coal Mine " Job for very long because you and your children will be Dead from the Pollution you are causing. Its time to learn to do something besides destroying the earth and calling it a Business.
My 87 yr old uncle still lives in BSG. Last time I visit him 4yrs ago, I got sick to my stomach looking at the distruction of the mountain tops. Keep it up! I was born in that area but my parents moved north in the 50s to get away from the mines.
