The only thing, I think, remaining is solution on good, reliable, quickly-charged batteries that can take up a big capacity...And I think the future lies in the "ultracapacitors" technology based on the recent and near future nanotechnology developments. Imagine a bike that can be fully charged in some 5-6 minutes, that can go some 300 miles per charge, can reach some 100 miles per hour...Well, today it seems quite "futuristic", but in some 10-15 years it will be our reality.
There are pro's and con's about electric bikes a big pro is that its fairly cheap to fill it up but a big con is that it wont last that long in a single ride which sucks cuz i enjoy really long drives
Haha! Thanks for the audio comments. This was just a fun side project video homies. its called practice. Input is good. FYI Brammo raised a round of funding so are expanding now.
And of course, no tech vid is complete without a FUCKTARD sound track. What brain-beating, distracting crap that is! I just want to hear about the bike. The second-rate techno crap music does not help in any way.
I just can't believe how often this is done, and I never understand why.
I hate when companies claim 100% clean vehicles. Yeah, the bike doesn't spew out fumes, but to charge it up, probably produces more pollution from burning coal at a power plant, than if you were to burn gasoline. But it depends where you live... that's definitely the case here in CT
@dough654 No, it's never the case no matter where you are. The electricity needed to refine the petrol is more than the electricity needed to power the bike the equivalent distance. The electricity used to refine a litre of petrol is enough to recharge this bike twice or more.
@72mharris I don't understand the question. What about solar or wind? I recharge my electric bike from solar/wind power so it produces no carbon from running. It did take carbon to make it in the first place, but as it's much lighter (uses less materials) than the equivalent petrol bike so it produced much less carbon to build it than a similar petrol bike.
Electric vehicles may emit zero emmissions but you still need electricity from coal or nuclear etc. so nothing is really green, but it looks like a fun toy I would give it a motorcycle sound,u can buy boxes that emit sound through a speaker. You can even get a ferrari sound!!! LOL
@chronofusion - the bike is mostly quiet like the Tesla Roadster. Only noise is the chain some engine winding up. The electrics are nice because it is more of a peaceful ride. Stability in the damp weather we had was really solid. The bike was not a toy, really was impressed with the breaking, build and finish.. They put a limiter on the engine so the throttle does not snap as quick as I know the engine could, so it would be cool to have som

wehn is Brammo going to have some bikes at my nearest Best Buy Stores ( Flowood, MS and Jackson MS) ? I keep getting the run around when i call 1 888 237 8289
tell ya want here's a SIMPLE answer to getting rid of our dependancy on foreign bullshit oil. drive 100% electric vehicles. then while we're at it. figure out a way to install and mount a wind turbine high rpm free energy electricity charger to constantly charge the battery(s) during operation and when the vehicle is turned off. free energy is teh TOP of the economic food chain. EAT THAT MAHMOUD and Saudi Arabia! Thank God for the men to pull the weight of companies Like Zero and Brammo.cheers
One very big elephant in the room, which everyone is ignoring, is, what will be the actual life of the battery pack. How much does it cost to replace? When will it fail? Will the entire battery pack fail, or just a cell or two? How much to fix/replace after the 1 year warranty? Okay so the Brammo rep just said 2,000 deep cycle charges is the battery warranty. Is that a hard figure, 2,000 deep cycle charges? If so the battery is warranted for maybe 4 - 5 years? Please confirm.
i would love to have one of those but my favorite thing about the motorcycles we have now is that i could fix it my self . i wouldnt know what to do with one of those if something happened
@moyaman14 yes your right ! the best part of motorcycles and cars is fixing them. i buy motorcycle mainly to fix them its such a pleasure . unfortunatley those new motorcycle are too much relaible my last yamaha did not want to brake down ,shame on you yamaha
If you look at the recent oil well disaster off the coast and think it is horrible, then just look at ever car that is emitting the same junk into the air daily. These EVs are making strides that should be applauded not slammed.
@timreha I completely agree my friend, people have to remember these bikes are like the first generation electric bikes, imagine how technology will advance in the next 5-10 years ;-) My only concern, is how much energy is used to charge the bike (obviously using energy from the power station, which provides electric) be interesting to find out how much better they are??? :-) Peace
100kph? My left ear...I've 40 year old motorcycle that eats that alive. 100mi range? ROTFLMA (dang near pissed my self at that one) my motorcycle gets 150mi regardless of how I ride. Now hear is the deal killer for me and should be for EVERYONE...can you recharge it in 15 minutes or less? Because I can put 5gal of gas in min in under 5 minute depending on the pump. What is a number of recharges before the battery goes soft then fails? It wont even keep up with a 79 GL1000. No thanks.
I've been looking at these for over a year now. It's great to see that they dropped the price to $7995. They were at $12,000, too high for the average rider. With my commute of 15 miles at around 45 mph top speed, this would be a great alternative for me. The batteries ought to have about a 4 to 5 year life to them for a daily commute like mine, and technology will just make it better.
I really am excited about the low hassles of ownership for electric motorcycles. No fuel, no carbs, no cold morning starts, no old mufflers to go bad, just turn and burn. -- Tim Reha
@timreha LOL you poor baby. New motorcycles are FI can be had with belt, shaft or chain. know how long a muffler lasts? I'm still using 40 y/o oem mufflers on a 100,000mi bike. Thanks you made me laugh.
@timreha what is that solid tone noise at 6:45 that sounds like a vacuum cleaner on high? please tell me that isn't the noise of the enertia empulse 10.0 on idle. that would be a deal breaker for me.
Hats off to Brammo for pioneering an e-bike. However they've got a few milestones IMO before they can really tap into the real motorcycle market. Basically they need to up the top speed and range. The bike is quoted at 45 mi range, but I've read a few times that the bike realistically gets 20 mi when you're doing top speed down the highway. So ultimately what's needed is better, bigger, cheaper batteries.
@jpmorgan187 : I agree but that technology is being hogged up by larger companies that will not allow these small start-ups to really get going. Also, 20 miles on LA freeways is quite a bit. LOL. But a range of 100+ would be ideal. Good vid and comments.

@dough654 your 1 gallon of gas costs you 8KWH of electricity just to process it.
How about excluding the oily middleman who does not like you.
