We did nothing to alter our industries as competing markets arose. Frankly this all started in Carter's administration but the GOP certainly didn't help.

Lindsay Graham is a Colonel in the Air Force Reserve and he has put him money where his mouth is by going to Iraq and Afghanistan in uniform and not just as a Senator.
The majority of our troops in Iraq have died from IED's, random mortar attacks, etc. No one is "miles away from any combat". Lindsey Graham has done active duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan. And it hasn't just been in the Green Zone.

We HAD 6 years of a decent economy, but when the Dems took over it downturned. They have controlled Freddie/Fannie since 06, and Barney Frank/Cris Dodd caused the meltdown.
And the intelligence was based on years of data for Iraq. That's why both Republicans and Dems voted for it. The difference is that Dems turned tail when it got bad.
I actually live in VA, and Webb has done a poor job. He joined the Dems in an election year when they were more popular and won by a slim margin.

I know full well what happened in the 30's. We allowed "free market" economics to take the place fiscal responsibility and repeated nearly the same mistakes that helped create the Great Depression. WW2 created a manufacturing boom that was aided by foreign needs for materials as their resources were depleted and facilities destroyed. We did nothing to alter our industries as competing markets arose. Frankly this all started in Carter's administration but the GOP certainly didn't help.

The majority of our troops in Iraq have died from IED's, random mortar attacks, etc. No one is "miles away from any combat". Lindsey Graham has done active duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan. And it hasn't just been in the Green Zone.

I was all for Webb being Obama's VP but after seeing a video of him talking about women in the naval academy, i dont think am all that enthusiastic anymore. Because at a time when hillary supporters are still heart broken on the failed chance of a woman presidency, fox news and the mccain camp will beat this issue to death in an attempt to win them over and you bet, they will.
