If you give this game time, then I can guarantee you that you'll be rewarded for it. Try starting small. In real-life, if you try killing 20 armed men on your own, you'll get your ass handed to you. The same goes for this game. Try building up an army of your own and beat your worste enemies then. Some games aren't supposed to lead you by the hand like others do. =)

Gladiator games have changed A LOT in the centuries they were popular, depending on the emperor at the time, etc. Not only prisoners were gladiators. Many gladiators did it of their own free will, for money and glory. And the fights certainly did not ALWAYS go on to the death of one contestant. Read that book again, friend.

BUT the Sargoth Arena allows you to fight four guys one-on-one, and win 108 denars for it (assuming you bet 30 denars), I think it is the most profitable, but you can only be on foot. By the way, I see a new mod, "Calradia: Total War" has been released just a mere few days ago. It's got AI that can raid villages, etc. Haven't tried it out yet, but I will shortly.

If there is an error with Taleworlds, you'll just have to wait. People can't give you their serials, since they use them for themselves. Also, it's not legal.

The norman mod is good,chainmail is expensive however and don;t expect to get it soon.Also there are actual skimishing in that mod so use a shield and a few javalins.
Check out the forums at mount and blade,theres a historical norman invasion mod,lotr mod,and story and darkmod.Duke and mercs is a minor mod that adds new units and stuff.Lol and also its very hard,a arquebus will kill in one hit and nearly everyone has one except vaegirs.

In the story-mod, these gladiator-games are available. As always, you can't choose armor for the gladiator games, so this is the default one. :)

I fought in different arenas. Keep in mind that I used StoryMod 1.5. In the original Mount & Blade, you cannot find the same arenas and different gladiator battles.
