Although I'm still a bit displeased with the newer animation look, the artists finally made the lost souls look as freaky as they are supposed to & they finally got rid of that stupid glowing blood effect! It's one thing to do that occasionally, but in the earlier episodes, they really had censored down the sheer amount of gore that is supposed to be in this series. Finally - real looking blood! I'm very happy about this seeing as to how it's true to the manga and also how the OVA was as well.

Actually, in Japan, it's fairly common to call someone who's not related to you sister or brother if you are a young child and the person "looks after you". It's more of a cute affection thing then him mistaking or assuming that Mana is his replacement sister.
