However, it would seem a little unfair to some people if she only spoke a few languages, and at the same time it would be too great a display of power if she competently spoke every language under the sun. Not at all, at face value the concept that adults should Hug someone they do not know seems abnormal & embarrassing. Great spiritual teachers teach that life is to be lived fully, free from mental bonds, to honor your own individuality and freedom ,and to explore the infinite vastness of your own soul and express this in the present moment with love towards others and to enjoy this great miracle called life. This is not what I found and her event.
Jesus also tried very hard to show that he was not GOD any more than his desciples were. He was always trying to teach them that they could "follow him." He had no desire to be worshiped.
I have never met Amma but I can't doubt the experience of my freinds who have. My (our) journey is all about allowing God to fully express from within. I have watched this video many times and from it, I learned more than from any of the other videos of Amma, what she is teaching. I used to dislike the word "mother" and at first, I didn't want to hear that Amma wanted to see more mother-energy in the world. It is true, though, that many people cannot express these energies in their lives, because the energies haven't been awakened. I understand more about love after seeing Amma. Each time I watch a video of her, I feel love coming into me.

@klindred - having spent a lot time watching Amma, I've seen that she understands all languages. However, it would seem a little unfair to some people if she only spoke a few languages, and at the same time it would be too great a display of power if she competently spoke every language under the sun. So,I believe she chooses to only speak her own language. If she spoke all languages it would go against her message and example of humility and simplicity.

Not at all, at face value the concept that adults should Hug someone they do not know seems abnormal & embarrassing. But once you come close to Amma and experience her, you feel you have always known her . I did not feel anything in the Hug (this was in melbourne 3 yrs back) , but sitting in her presence quietened my mind. She also asked me not to worry ...which surprised me as I used to worry a lot those days. So she knew my mind :-) hope this helps.

I went to see Amma and I even stood in line for a hug, but as I approached her I was asked to crawl on my hands and knees. I felt I was being pressured to lower myself and submit to a regime of submissive conditioning. My senses never gave me a good feeling so I left.

Great spiritual teachers teach that life is to be lived fully, free from mental bonds, to honor your own individuality and freedom ,and to explore the infinite vastness of your own soul and express this in the present moment with love towards others and to enjoy this great miracle called life. This is not what I found and her event.

Jesus also tried very hard to show that he was not GOD any more than his desciples were. He was always trying to teach them that they could "follow him." He had no desire to be worshiped.
I have never met Amma but I can't doubt the experience of my freinds who have. My (our) journey is all about allowing God to fully express from within. To the extent we can do that, others are drawn toward the light and are healed by IT. It is not i (small i), but the Spirit within (I AM) that does the work.

The curious thing is that many Christians don't really believe in the in God as omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient. Here in Seattle there is a church called Mars Hill. One of their pastors said on national TV that his god is OUT THERE, waiting to be called down from heaven to help out if he gets in a pickle. This is NOT omnipresence. Jesus tried very hard to teach the concept that the fullness of God is within. But one must realize that this IS the journey/game/dance.
