I know writing/booking has a lot to do with it but if you can't get past that and become a star against adversity, how talented are you REALLY? That's how I see it. I don't see the big deal in calling people by the name they were introduced as. Even wrestlers do that. Foley or someone mentioned how Flair calls Taker "Mark" because he was introduced to him as that. Most people know him as Taker, tough. Just like some call Foley Mick and some Jack, Nash and Hall still refer to Pac as Kid half the time, etc.
