Tip: you can set the conversion settings to ProRess442(LT), it maintains practically the same quality and results in way smaller file sizes

Hey man , I have tried over and over for the past 2 days what you are saying and I cant get it to work. For some reason FC says that I have unsported material in the folder and to choose a folder that is. I have all THM fies and Im using a new macbook pro with a Sandisk Class 4 64gb . I've managed to use text wrangler and set everything the same way you did. I have the correct software installed, but for some reason when I try and log and transfer the footage from they SD card nothing happens at all. No error message comes up or anything. It just stays blank.

I have a GeForce 8600M GT graphics card, which is not fast enough. if using DUAL EYES program to sync sound.... i've already synced my mov and wav files before import so my THM file names match the un-synced MOV's. i'm simply making all synced MOV file names and THM file names identical so original MOV's are NOT imported and new, synced files are. tedious but all i can figure out.

Just the other day I shot with my schools' T2i for the first time and then dumped the files on my external hard drive. I'm now home and have all the original .mov and .thm files and I'm working with FCP 7. I followed your instructions and even used textwrangler but I'm still getting the "unsupported media" prompt. Please help. My project is due Monday and I have a busy weekend. Thanks.

@JamesRockfordFilms @joejumps4fun I just found it! You have to go to Macintosh HD> Library you will find it there. What you don't want to do is to go to users > etc. . . Hope this helps!

No luck installing firmware. Is it ce1100x.dmg.zip or 5d200207.fir ? Neither seem to create a proper .fir file that my T2i reads.

This video and the info are very helpful. But will video from the T2i play in FCP 5? I am able to play it as a clip, but when I put it in a timeline, I have to render. Am I missing something or do I need to upgrade FCP?
