where i live, Nine, The Hurt Locker, Precious, A Serious Man, An education where never released with in theater. Avatar has some good competition against District 9 and Inglourious Basterds. Christoh waltz will win.i hope Neill Blomkamp wins a oscar. its would be cool if QT won an oscar for best director but James Cameron did a great job. Star Trek was better than The Blind Side. Blind Side for Best Picture? What a joke? I guess this is a sign that Sandra Bullock will win Best Actress. The film was mediocre at best and while Bullock was good, she was nowhere near oscar-worthy.

Avatar is not winning Best Picture. The last picture that won without a screenplay nomination is Titanic and I really doubt it will happen this year. Hurt Locker will win BP and BD (and deservedly so).

I am surprised that "The blind side" got a nom for Best Picture, but nothing for Best Adapted Screenplay. Had it been 5 slots instead of 10, it would probably had not been nominated (it doesn't mean I think is bad, still has not been released in my country so I don't know, but I expected it to be nominated for its writing more than for Best picture).
