  • Can anyone tell me if there's a trumpet in this?

  • Classic...

  • Thanx for this.. Love the 8's!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Ah yes the Crazy 8's. I'm Beaverton born now listening to them in England and they still sound good. Cheers!

  • I have one of their original records! My dad used to hire them to perform at OSU for their frat. Gotta love the 80s

  • Saw these guys last night at the rose festival, it was great!

  • my dad is the guitar player

  • Playing in Albany this summer at River Rthymns " Let's Get Naked"

  • @screamcheese62 funk yaaaaaaaa!! when ? ((((:

  • AHHH, Ive seen them many times in the past when I lived in Corvallis, good times!!!!

  • Perhaps the best live show I have seen. WSU, UW, Eugene...Great road trips in the mid 80's.

  • This song is so awesome!

  • If 10% of the garbage they play on the radio today was as good as this I'd start listening to FM again. Unfortunately, repetitive crap is all you hear. I swear Z100 is just an endless loop of 10-15 no-talent artists.

These guys were better than most so-called 'top bands' back then, and certainly better than anything now.

  • I play with the husky drumline and the lead singer came to our game. he conducted us while we played Johnny Q after beating OSU. Check it out here on youtube.

  • The Crazy 8's were one of my favorite bands when I was in college. They played at a big party my fraternity sponsored in Seattle in 1987.

  • these guys used to come down to Lumberjack days at Humboldt state university and also play with a band named Grafitti in Arcata Calif-

  • I JUST heard about these guys and they are now one of my favs.

    they kick ass!

  • I saw the Crazy 8's many times in the Valley, God i loved them!

  • I remember this song, I was the Tenor sax player on this recording

  • The Bass player is my band teacher

  • @uva977

dude, the guitar player is my DAD

  • @uva977 The sax player is my band teacher

  • Am I crazy or did the Crazy 8s have a song called "Ship to Sea"? I can't find it anywhere. Another one I recall was something like "K-USA" (?). Seems to have been lost to the sands of time ...

  • i cant find the damn lyrics anywhere! any1 know?

  • I've been trying to find a replacement for my cassette tape of this. Can't get one! Have seen them many times in Eugene, OR at The Met and Univ of Oregon EMU Ballroom!

  • Dan Schauffler is my band teacher (AKA the guy on the tennor sax

  • Never got a chance to see these guys live, but one of the guys in the frat I was in had this tape, never forgot it and glad to find it here.

  • OMG. These guys were our FAVES in college at Evergreen! Soooo great!

  • HA ! Sweet lil' diddy. I loved these guys in the late 80's going to college in Ashland, Oregon (Southern Oregon University). Saw them every time the came to town, which was several times a year. Thumbs up!

I bought this album when it came out, it's been years (decades?) since I heard it.

  • Frigging GREAT band!!!

  • These guys played in Eugene during my college days.

    I think I had FUN!

  • I LOVE these guys! they have a style that's so fun and yet so musical. too bad they didnt hit it big.

  • The tenor sax player dan schoffler is my band teacher

  • shauffler not shoffler

  • I first saw them in the late 80's, early 90's at the oregon Country Fair. Let's get naked!

  • style and ease

  • They are playing in my backyard tonight at the Art Festival :)

  • the bass player is my cousin

  • Does anyone remember the Crazy 8s song "Ship to Sea"? I can't find a video or an audio clip of it on the Internet.

  • I saw the Crazy 8's three times in concert and they rocked the house.

  • Thanks, I saw them once in Portland over 20 years ago and never forgot the sound, finally found there album last year.

  • man i love this song !!! im glad were playing it in band but i think it sounds better with just instruments and no singing or piano

  • Hey Paul Ross, Garth here, been drinking, got a nice little buzz goin' on and remembering the great time at Wazzu and remembered the fun we had with this song...long live "Dunstan House" Stevenson North! We definately brought the '80's to a close with style.

  • Been looking for this song for 10 years couldn't remember the artist or title. Thank you!

  • Nice - I have this on vinyl. I was wondering when someone would make a Crazy 8 post.

  • Saw them in july for their 20th aniversery, it was a FANTASTIC SHOW!! The fact is most of the guys are band teachers now, the singer is a math teacher.

But Mike Regan, the bass player, is the best by far ;)

He's my old middle school teacher. Superb bassist and musician, along with teacher.

  • mike regan the bass player is my band teacher

  • I had never heard of this song or this band until we played this song in the Husky Marching Band. It instantly became one of my favs. How 'bout someone make a video for Find Myself a Sunny Spot? That's another good one of theirs.

  • I miss these guys soooo much. Bring back the Mayor's Ball and have these guys be the closing band....AGAIN!!! Thanks for the post, and thanks for the memories....:-)

  • I saw these guys in 1989 went to visit a friend at UW and these guys were playing that weekend. I bought there tape, somewhere long the line it got away from me, but every now and the ya come accross this song or law and order some place. I never understoof why these guys couldnt transition over to mainstream music, they had the stuff to do it.

  • Dude the bass player is my old band teacher

  • he is also my current band teacher

  • Thanks for posting. This song was a staple for me & friends in the mid-80s. Not only was their music great, but their live show performance was perfectly energized. Great memories. Thanks again!

  • DAN SHAUFLER IS MY BAND TEACHER!!!

  • NO HE'S MINE!!!!

  • hey they're performing again for the music hall of fame in october.

  • One of the band members is a band teacher at one of the local Catholic high schools, can't remember if it's St Mary's or Jesuit.

  • It's Valley Catholic (formerly known as St. Mary's). I see they're performing in Bend in a few weeks...pretty cool.

  • @ryandball its st marys, sucka! my papas the guitar playa, sucka!

  • Danny schauffler the sax player is my band teacher at scs He is the coolest guy I have ever met in my whole life!!!!!

  • @ryandball Danny Schauffler at St. Mary's (Valley Catholic).

I wish I still had the shirt....

  • @ryandball He is my band teacher at Valley Catholic. Dan Schauffler is his name. We played this song in band today. Mr.Schauffler is the BEST band teacher!

  • Dude the tenor sax player is my band teacher, swear.

  • Love this band.

  • Nicely done!!

I've been waiting an ETERNITY for a Crazy 8's video to make it to YT.

The 8-8-08 show at The Bite was extremely high energy! Such a bummer that the one video posted so far from that show is so poor quality...

Hopefully some better 8-8-08 footage will get posted, like maybe The Key or Find Myself a Sunny Spot...

  • I love this band. I wish I hadn't missed them at the Bite, I wanted to go so bad.

  • The show at the Bite was pretty great. They were amazingly tight. There were cameras there filming the show, but I didn't get an answer when I contacted Special Olympics of Oregon or The Bite as to whether we'd be getting a DVD or not.

  • check out my video. I got to go backstage at the bite and saw them. I got a vid of Law and Order.

  • Yeah, I couldn't get a ride my parents wanted to watch the Olympic opening ceremony and they didn't want to risk missing it...
