  • Hey great takedown!!! My partner in practice has good balance and very heavy legs and hips so it's difficult for me to finish single legs, but I've had the best success with this.

  • @DrNuggetCase great, i hope this helped. glad you think this technique is good, ive gotten a decent amount of mileage out of it.

  • Joe you are and have always been a great coach, 31 thousand plus views, im tellin you the skys the Limit for you man..

  • actually worked in my training . mma

  • @d6ud9e - awesome. go for it!

  • @jscioli83 ur the guy teaching on the video?

  • @d6ud9e - Yes I made this video about 2years ago. thank you for watching. i have many others if you are interested.

  • show very good atacks

  • Nice, Nice! I could see many pin combinations from there.

  • that kids a fish... he doesn't know what hes doing

  • I prefer sweepin the leg first

  • thank you! very well shown!

  • great demonstration, the danger in mma is getting hit while closing the distance if you start from too far the move will be telegraphed and the opponent can strike and move away. Once you're inside effective striking range (double inside) those wrestling skills pay off.

  • I like this move it works great for me when it comes to jit""

  • @lunker73 yup, its relatively safe. mma too.

  • @jscioli83 looks like he can give the little guy can throw a nice right to his jaw.

  • nice coaching""

  • @lunker73 Thank you. much appreciated.

  • TREE-TOP 'EM !!! LOL ; thx, i hate the reagular outside single i learned in folksyle, maybe this will help a lil better in free-style after spring break.

  • today at school when we were doin PE we did a little wrestling but not the knockout stuff we just had to get the other one outta the ring and i got 3rd place

was kinda fun so i felt like checking out some basic moves

    so thanks =]

  • very nice, simple yet practical. explained very well..

  • mma single leg is way easier anyone agree ?

  • It would be much harder to take down a good wrestler with the basic "mma" single leg, which I'm assuming is a regular outside single.

  • @akdouggernaut ... TRUE. The thing is tho you have to blend techniques so you dont sacrifice a knockout. A knee over toe single or a sweep single gives you more "safeness yet a knee pull gives you a higher % on the takedown. SO, its a matter of preference...

  • I agree. Personally, if i was in a fight situation, I would try a low single, since it's lower than the effective punching range. It would also be harder to land a knee on someone so low to the ground. But then you run the risk of getting sprawled on and guillotined. It's all a gamble, really.

  • @akdouggernaut

    accurate assessment.

  • I dont think shooting 4 take downs is good 4 street fights. 1 concrete is not as forgiving as a mat. 2 you mentioned getting a knee or a guillotine and what about a hit to the back of the head, very effective. Thats why back of head strikes are illegal in MMA.U c guys standing over another dude looking at the back of his head trying to get round the sides. In a street fight it would be all over. Going to ground in the street is also bad because bystanders can fuck u up while your rolling around.

  • @onetao8 If its one on one street fight grappling is great. Even if it's in the road. I say a scraped knee is better than a damaged pride or a late night hospital visit. And also I think chances are if a guy doesn't even defend a takedown and decides to punch you in the back of the head he is just going to get taken down. Punchs to the back of the head don't do to much from close distance. When you shoot in you close the distance getting rid of the opportunity to strike effectively.

  • I agree grappling is great for street fighting, i just wouldn't do a double leg shot where you drop to one knee and then shoot in.

  • @AudienceKiller66 As for back of the head strikes not having any power on someone who has shot in on u i disagree. Imagine someone has shot a low double on u but hasn't quite got it, and is now on there knees or bent over in front of you and is holding your leg/s (this happens all the time at my mma gym). From this position if i raised my hand above my head and dropped my forearm onto the back of there neck or head, i think this would be a powerful strike, don't you ?

  • can i hit this from a tie up position with elbow control? he ties up get elbow control get him stepping that leg then knee pull?

  • sure! however you like to get there. the real key here is getting two hands on the single leg shot.

  • really great video, thanks

  • wow, beautiful instruction. I'vewatched so many college wrestlers shoot singles like high crotches it always confused me. This answers my question Finally! Cael sanderson loves this knee pull single. THANK!S!!

  • hank u man

  • @bearboy01 I train with Joe in BJJ and take wrestling classes under his teaching, he breaks things down very well and informative.

  • i like that finish on the single, even though yoitired already said it =]

  • I like that finish to the single, haven't seen that one before.

  • you know you're cool when you can beat 1 10 year old

  • you know your foolish when you don't know it is really just a demo...

  • now how do you do that yet avoid knees at the same time...lol. thanks for the post.

  • This helped a lot thanx

  • you got it. i got a bunch more. enjoy.
