  • Let me guess it only works for cs5 doesnt it?

  • Does it work on all iPhones and iPod touches?

  • 4:19 what he just say? flavorite? :P

  • @jeffzahnd it's his mustage making him unable to pronounce stuff properly :D

  • AS3 far exceeds AS2. Both languages are incredibly easy, so I don't see much need to differentiate there. AS3 however has not only much more function, but the VM it runs on is about 10X faster (essentially, the greatest thing imaginable in AS2 can be done in AS3 a be 10 times better + extra features (ComputeSpectrum() anyone? ^>^)).

And to those who want a painfully easy development environment, go with something like Unity3D (free btw and it allows for 3D web stuff that runs fast) or Torque =P

  • @Truthiness231 hey that 3D thing you talk about is to create animations like in flash but in 3D and with al that wireframe or something like that (like creating your own characters or something???)

  • @yudomax AH OK first I'd like to say: thnx for reminding me about Unity3D!! ^.^ I just went to check the link for you and found out that Unity3D 3.0 was just released, so yeah for me I have new stuff to play with!

And to answer your question: check out Unity3D(o)com. It's free to download and if you know Java (easy if you already know AS3) or C++ you're GTG. =D

And (I know you didn't ask, but) if you want to do 3D in AS3 I'd go with Papervision or Away 3D.

  • @Truthiness231 woa thanks a lot dude

  • In the File Section of Aries-Films you can download everything you need to create your videos and go even further. Just google for Aries-Films

  • Does this mean we can watch any embedded videos in safari?

  • You guys thought Steve would let you run your buggy warez on an iPhone. Apple is pushing forward with google for HTML5. We don't need no stinking flash. or badges. HTML5 for gaming and video delivery will be the future. Take care.

  • why is it that Adobe can make a AS3 to Iphone compiler, but not an AS2 to AS3 compiler?!!!!!!!

  • simple because they don't want people using AS 2

  • why?

  • And can't you export it to AS3? -_- even if not just decompile it then make it again with the same stuff

  • @timabad AS2 is not as amazing as AS3 is simply the answer.... Take about 10 minutes and learn the very small differences and enjoy the true power of AS3...

  • @mmbeast88 can you define amazing as you have it in your sentence, please?

If you can do the same things in as2 that you can in as3, but with less code, how is as3 more efficient or better to work with?

  • @timabad as3 is more efficint in terms of cpu and resource usage. Sure its much faster to cook up simple stuff with as2, but if you try to make a complicated web app with multiple classes like a game, you are better off investing some time in as3 as it will run the code faster.

  • @fragm3nted I've made games with as2 and they run fine. I just had to compress the graphics or make them vector...

  • @timabad, because you call call upon instances that are created in memory. The language is structured a hell of a lot better and contains a large library full of more useful built in functions which support current web technologies.

  • @mmbeast88 as2 doesn't have the functions only because they weren't given to it, not because it couldn't handle it.

  • Flash is "heavy" for smartphones!...unfortunatly...

Adobe, make something better and light...

  • ipod touch:(

  • @johnykonta57 excluding the phone and camera software, iPhone and iPod Touch are the same platform and run basically the same OS. So what ever is accomplishable, app wise on the iPhone is available for the iPod Touch

  • makes me happpy so you can convert flash games into ipod touch files? or you can just view flash on your ipod or iphone

  • -> safari? :)

  • @MrPookieDaHousecat Yeah, in the jungle!

  • lol

  • Waiting for a plugin for safari in iPhone....

  • make it run on safari!!!

  • Only now try to add flash to Safari to activate online webcontent, then everyone will be happy.

  • one flash video inside another
