actually, i read it on blabbermouth. speaking of which, i just read an update that said the new album (Starve For The Devil) has been pushed back to February 9, 2010...
probably has something to do with the recently announced North American tour they're doing with Arch Enemy / Exodus in January and February next year... can't fucking wait to see them live again!
@failuresconquest until last year i was on a big metallica, and thrash metal hike, but i went to see my first metal band live, and they got me back into the genre. funny thing is, they're name is Through the eyes of the dead, and they're current bassist, Jake Ososkie, used to be in Arsis.
amazing song. James Malone is beyond sick. definitely one of the best players / song writers in metal. can't fucking wait for the new Arsis album. this band never disappoints.
anyone else notice how many times Malone uses his pinky to try and roll up the volume and tone knobs? haha watch around 1:15 or so. pretty funny...
What is up with Malone's odd colored guitar collection. He played a pink one when I saw them at Thrash and Burn last year and now it's a purple Ibanez. Genius.
I actually hunted ebay for about a year for an RG550, and got lucky enough to find this one. Not James' of course, but the same model and same color. I love it, and will never, ever, ever part with it.
1st of all how can some necrophagist fan or whatever talk about musicality and 2nd what do you know about music theory? Those other 'technical' bands' songs all use so much similarity and repetition, along with unison, making them easily cranked out by the thousands without any thought
Well a lot, too much, of Necrophagist is just unison diminished stuff. That also, because its unison, makes it like 10-50 times easier to write. Arsis has more chord structure while using diminished and augmented fifths. It is opinion of what band sounds better but it is more agreeable that Arsis's songs are harder to write. And Im not saying those bands sound like eachother, they have songs that sound too similar
Anyways, Overthrown's tapping intro blows Necrophagist's writing in its entirety within a few measures. You can't really believe that run isn't musical, otherwise, the things good about Necrophagist you wouldn't like. Also Failure's Conquest. Try to damn write a song like that. The fast repetition in that is just godlike.
this song is amazing + perfect guitar work perfect bass and perfect drumming + and sick lyrics .. notice how he sings, plays and lower the tune at the same freaking time !!!
As far as I know, he just started to really endorse the brand, and they probably don't update the list on their site too often. On the Arsis myspace page there is a Washburn banner with James and one of his V's, so I would guess he actually endorses them now, anyway.
I FUCKIN LOVE ARSIS. i fuckin met jamse malone (singer/guitar) in toronto he was a fuckin chillin guy front row and in the pits the whole time FUCKIN ARSIS FOREVER MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!
the new singer guy sucks .. i love arsis the way they are not with the new bold person .. james tapping and playing kicks ass and at the same time he sings.. :D
well neither really sing but i think James does sound better then Muhammed. But then again Muhammed i think more then makes up for that in his solos. That guy has the most beautiful soloing style i swear. It might be pretty interesting to see Muhammed and James get together and jam out a bit.
I prefer Muhammed, it sounds more of my liking, because it's heavier and it makes me go like "cool" :P. Muhammed's solos are too similar though, they sound good but sometimes they sound alike too much.
the crowd is fucking tiny!!!

it's an awesome looking guitar, wish he would have stuck with that rather than getting the washburns...

not to be rude, but I think the washburn looks better on him,and it is just as great sounding, if not better

yeah, the Washburn looks sweet too, and sounds just as good, but man that's a sexy ibanez :P
