I just love Doris Day, she will always be my favorite actress, she is just great, great personality and spirit. And amazingly young sounding for 87...God bless her! She made Hollywood greater. She will always live in our hearts. Wish there were more people like her.
Thank you so much for putting this up. My Momma first introduced me to Ms. Day's music and movies and we always watched "Best Friends." I now have a collection of her cds and DVDs and still listen/watch quite frequently. It was such a joy to hear her radio interview. It was nice to hear the "spunky" still in her voice, but I can't imagine her being any other way. Thank you again.
Such a wonderful treat, such a terrific effort you put into this! To say thank you is not enough but oh you made my day. I'm a little teary eye. and that she sang even just a line, to know that she is well and has her voice and seems content and happy is precious. Thank you so very, very much.
This guy is frustrating. She was trying to explain to him that she didnt want to hear any of the stuff from her 40's big band era. She wanted to hear her solo stuff from the 50's. That just went way over his head! & shes so right cuz as much as i love ALL of Doris' music, its her 50's stuff that is just golden. i think she has bad memories from those days--reading her bio those were not good times for her.
It is frustrating. You know, she doesn't make public appearances and hasn't for years, so this is such a treat that she does this—call into the station—on her birthday. I just wish there were a producer involved who could make it more meaningful for the legion of fans who love her and would like to hear from her, and not dear Ed's rambling reminiscences.
Thank you so much for posting this broadcast. I live in Pennsylvania so I appreciate the opportunity to here one of the greates entertainers in the world. This is such a wonderful way to celebrate her life. I have been a fan of Doris forever. I would love to see her receive the Kennedy Center Honors. It is an overdue recognition. There has to be a way to get her to D.C. :)
i am from the philippines and i just turned 50 the other day. i have been a fan of ms. day since i was about 7 years old. my biggest wish is to be able to one day meet her. i doubt very much that it can happen, so hearing her speak every year is the next best thing. thank you very much for posting her yearly interviews in your radio station. very much apreciated.
I have heard about this interview but I was totally unaware of the length and time Doris spent. What a joy! Someone posted about the tabloids and it's true they dog Doris. As you can tell she's still 'with it' and far from crazy. Listen to her correct the interviewer when he says "Les Brown said the other day" Doris jumps in "Not the other day!"
A week ago this past Thurs. I sent a letter to DD in Carmel w/ some pics I took of Terry l took yrs ago. Last Thurs. I got a lovely letter from her. Wow
yea they always try to make it like shes nuts or losing her mind or something. i wish they wouldnt do that. she is very sharp & totally with it! but when they hurl that kind of venom & negativity towards someone who has done nothing but brought joy to the world--who can blame her for keeping to herself & not wanting to be bothered w/ the garbage of todays world--i dont blame her one bit. she has always had a beautiful spirit & an infectious joy. i jus love her.
All he wanted was to get Doris to go to lunch. He's OK but rambled on way too much. Doris has all her marbles but then that's the great woman that she is.
Unfortunately, one of the tabloids (The Globe) has twisted some of the contents of this interview in their latest issue which contains out-of-context quotations from Ms. Day. The article was so utterly ridiculous and is proof to anyone who has heard this interview that such tabloid papers are not worthy of the paper on which they are printed. Let's hope that the article does not discourage Ms. Day from doing further interviews.
Thank you for posting this wonderful interview. It was great to hear Ms. Day's voice again. In fact, during this interview, she even sang (ever so briefly) a phrase from "There's a Rising Moon for Every Falling Star". Despite what she says about her hoarseness, Doris Day still has a great voice. I've been waiting for years for her to return to the recording studio. May it be soon!
Thanks for giving me the opportunity of listening to this broadcast. I've been a fan of Doris for many years and its been great to hear her speaking, the pictures you posted were also great and I'm wondering how you managed to assemble such a collection! Your effort very much appreciated.
Herzlichen Dank,Marion. What a wonderful compilation.I was honoured to hear this Live when it aired, but I've been wanting to hear the archive - which the magic63 site did NOT carry this year! It was such a precious treat to hear Doris talk for nearly 50 minutes. That is a priceless gem, which you have now preserved for us.Thankyou so much for your great work here.
This I was waiting for and hopping someone will post it. A great job you've done with all nice pictures. How many hours takes it? Your payment is in knowledge, you made other fans a great joy? Thank you very much.

I hope we get to hear from the wonderful Miss Day again in two weeks. She sounds as good and strong as she did 40 years ago.

Kind of a nice little interview with a screen legend. I enjoyed Day's personality, and the few films I saw her in. I'm glad she's still doing well.

Doris is great but the interviewer is awful. He doesn't shut up or ask any really intelligent questions.

God bless you, Doris! This is the woman who opened up the world of classic movies to me, and her recordings always fill my heart with joy. Stay well!
