This system, and Dr middlebrooks video, are the two best systems on the planet in my professional oppinion. They both stress the importance of being flexible in your presentation, just like a martial artist fights.Dont be one dementional!!! experiment with the different fundementals and find what works for YOU THE BEST!!! There is no ONE PERFECT STYLE FOR EVERYTHING!!!Whatever controls your recoil, and is the least amount of movement, and puts hits on target is what YOU SHOULD USE(PERIOD).
He passed away? That's a horrible shame. I had a chance a few months ago to take a course with him. He even gave me a good discount. I wish I would have taken him up on that offer. Rip Mr. Castle
@rockyspace almost any, pretty much, 'cause the CAR is certain to maintain and control recoil. That's why it's good, 'cause the gun won't hit you in the face.
Could be difficult for me to adapt to, it certainly is different. I'd love to take a class though. Great video, very informative and answered a few questions I had about the system.
-Paul Castle é um cara visionario, treinei com ele em 2010, o CAR system é simplesmente imprecionante, muda a visão de combate real de tiro, ele sabe muito...
sinto saudade das muitas cervejas que tomamos juntos...
Cool video, and some crazy fast reloads! I like how with this technique you are able to "fling" the empty magazine away -- it's even faster then just relying on gravity for the magazine to fall out. It looks like it would also work just fine with pistols without "drop-free" magazines.
But @ 5:03 Paul Castle muzzle swept the guy in the blue shirt.
I really enjoyed watching this video... I first met Paul and was introduced to the CAR system in Greece circa 2005. I later trained with him again in Nashville, TN circa 2007. I have taught various aspects of the CAR system since '05 to hundreds of personnel. Paul is a great guy, a mentor and a friend...

Personally I prefer the weaver, but this stance looks good for 360 degree defense and quick-reaction shooting.
