  • I consider Jerry Andrus as my mentor. Mentor is a label given ONLY to the WELL DESERVED. I consider myself to be BLESSED that I was able to spend as much time with Jerry as I did.

  • @bRadicalmagic1 I agree.. Jerry was a good friend and a wonderful person. I met him when I first became serious about magic (1974). I attended countless IBM meetings and even a private trip to PDX to look at a Psychic Fair along with Ray Hyman ) I miss his Castle of Chaos visits (and Halloween Illusions) and I value every moment i spent in his company. I was young but he never made me feel that was something to be looked down upon. Truly Andrus was a great man! ~jk~

  • I, too am from Albany, Oregon (same as Jerry Andrus). Last October, I e-mailed him and he invited myself and a friend to his house for an afternoon. Wow! He was a genius and a gentlemen. I even got an autograph! I really feel blessed to have met him and I mourne his loss.

  • I met Andrus briefly at the first Amazing Meeting. A wonderful person, and his illusions were truly mind-bending! The world is a poorer place without him.

    Thanks for posting this! :)

  • Jerry was a great man who helped me in so many ways. I mourn his loss deeply but I am thankful for all he did for me and for every moment I spent with him at magic meetings, alone (eating a "short stack..no eggs.. cuz they are icky") or visiting Albany's "Castle of Chaos". Jerry my friend I LOVE YA BRO!

    BE LOVE & BE LOVED!

  • Randi,

Thank you for your great thoughts about this phenomenal man.

Nate Leipzig, once said, "The audience wants to know that they have been fooled by a gentleman."

It seems Jerry was a great example of a great, magical gentleman.

So are you, even though you'd probably jokingly deny it.

    You are both great inspirations.

    Thanks again!

  • Thank you for posting this, unfortunately I only heard about Jerry Andrus after his passing.
