Wasn't expecting King Arthur, but that would have been way better/far more symbolic than a bunch of chavs throwing litter about, all pushing to get on the bus at the same time and the bus exploding - not to mention the picture of Myra Hindley in the film. All it was missing was a bunch of feral hoodies shooting and knifing each other and bozos coming out of the pub mooning at te camera. But perhaps I.m too unsophisticated to appreciate such culture? If so, I'll stay "unsophisticated".

Im not disagreeing with you sirStan74. I just thought London and its people deserved better then the badly thought up and tacky presentation. Part of London's greatness is its centuries old tradition of welcoming and assimilating many other cultures and races- that could have been portrayed in an uplifting and entertaining way- not by litter louts pushing to get on an exploding bus!

im fron Hong Kong...i was pretty excited for the first like 4 mins with the dancing, the bus, the girl coming out- that was all cool. and then out comes Leona and Jimmy, I was dead excited; but when she started singing...i was like, huh? 10 secs later, i was fast-forwading the singing perf...
no offence, but it was horrible.
then Beckham came, kicks a ball, waves, END.
i was like shocked in front of the TV for 5 mins.

I watched this through clenched fingers, it was so cringeworthy and embarrasing. From the erratically prancing so PC commuters chucking their papers onto the floor and rioting to get on the bus which then exploded ( bad taste after Tavistock Square)to reveal a badly trimmed hedge, Leona Lewis in tin foil up a pole and an ancient rocker belting out a raunchy song about rough sex. Naff logo, naff 'display', just need Amy Winehouse to light Olympic flame with a ciggy.

anyone who says that London 2012 handover was a good presentation should checkout the Beijing Handover in Athens 2004. The Chinese gave a spectacular 8-min production. No big stars required. Just the best of their culture. As for London handover...sheesh... what a load of crap. They better start working NOW if they want to put a decent show in 2012.
