Its just not super clear. 2. at 1:11 you see Gavin release the clutch (or however you say that. lol i honestly dont know) on the hi hat and you never see him re-set the clutch.

I think crapatoa is right it is just the angle but if not you also have to remember Gavin uses a Cobra clutch, it is not a traditional drop clutch. Search it on google it allows you to have the hi hat completely closed, semi-open ala a regular drop clutch or completely open. And yes Gavin is a genius haha
