The Notre Dame organ, unlike many a Cavaille-Coll, did not have a Cliquot heritage. It was a Thierry, who was a generation before Cliquot. The organ suffered greatly during the Revolution, so it spent many years in disrepair. Cavaille-Coll turned it into a Cavaille-Coll in the 1850's. I wish they had left it a Cavaille-Coll. The stop list for the Notre Dame organ in those years sends shivers down my spine.
Dupre addition of bach cantatas.. it's in the key of D Major with his own fingering etc. Virgil, transposed it to E Major the original key for violin.
Of course, If wanted this arrangement, I would knock it out myself, just as I did the Virgil Fox arrangement. Still, I haven't the time to do everyone's arrangement... If you want the one I have done, feel free to ask.
This is great! Usually when this piece is played on organ, the pipes don't have time to fully sing the quick notes but rather melt them together. This is nice and clear. Well done!!
I *very* much doubt that is Dupre himself playing - that sounds like a fairly modern recording of an equally modern instrument - which quite probably wasn't even built until after Dupre's death - and the playing doesn't sound anything like any of the Dupre recordings that I have heard.

@wavejaco Dupré's transcription of the Sinfonia can be found in Volume 12 of his edition of Bach's organ works published by Bornemann.

No indeed, it's Michael Murray playing. I forgot on which organ, I have to look it up. Probably an organ in Boston.

@md95065 You' should be right, I'm sure it's not Dupré.
