@deejayzyx Have added and subbed.Good channel! I use this keyboard all the time and increasingly for live gigs.Very underestimated.Enjoy it my friend!
Hey Fezufo, are you saying that all those sounds are ones that you created? If so, I'm wondering if you could share those settings with me, especially the "Sizzle String Pad. Thanks in advance. Email me on here is you need too.
I'll be getting one of these soon... I've listen to the CS1x and the AN1x and the CS2x sounds are so much better. This board will inspire me to write even more music.
The An1x blows both CS Synths away becouse its a real Synthesizer and not a 4 Layer Sample based one...don't get me wrong, I won a Cs1x ( my first Synth ) and tried out the Cs2x but the An1x blows both in pieces...
@fezufo Thanks for the information! I really like the Sizzle String Pad on this board. I wish that sound-voice was on the Yamaha MM6. I'll have to get me a Yamaha CS2X.
@Minimoogman This is Yamaha`s "Silver machine"-the BIG BLUE was Yammi`s first attempt at a digital analogue-sounding machine! CS1X...i`m really after Yammi`s AN1x analogue emulator....i`ts cool!...thanks for the comment! good luck!
@Minimoogman Oh! I swear mine is clear blue metallic. It’s not “no-doubt-blue” as the CS1X, the 2X is much lighter. Whatever the color, this stuff screams and costs very little money.
@Faffel This keyboard only has the drum sounds for use with a sequencer or computer sequencer program,or if you have a looper pedal. It doesn`t have a built-in sequencer, which is a shame as it would be a really powerful synth.
@fezufo Thanks for the reply - I put the keyboard down for a while but I'm back at it after fiddling around with some DAWs. I'm just waiting for my MIDI to USB cable to arrive to get some real fun going on. I've been watching some of your vids and they're pretty cool - now I know how to do a hard split!
@fezufo In which case, it might be better to sell the CS2x and buy something like an SY77 or SY85. Same sound or better (with the 77 you get FM,) tons of filters, aftertouch keyboard, a sequencer, card slots and a floppy drive.
@Faffel It does have an arpeggiator with quite a lot of variety and power to it. You should download the manual from Yamahasynth[dot]com if you haven't done so already.
@gazuul yeah, you have full control over filters,fx,eq,lfo and envelope generators. The basic sounds are in ROM form, but you can layer or split up to 4 sounds for big sounds and it has multisample drums and sound effects also a standard GM/GS bank for midi-file/sequencer playback.Nice strings, basses, techno and even analog sounds, but no aftertouch. There is also initial velocity.quite a versatile keyboard if you spend some time on programming sounds.there is also a cool arpeggiator!!!
Brilliant demo! considering buying one of these soon! any advice or tips would be great from anyone experienced in its use! (message if you can be bothered haha)
@TheSquishMovies Many thanks for the comment. If yer after a cheap, programmable synth for live or especially studio...i highly recommend this.If however you are after a sample,sequencer/workstation...this is not!!!.Still...loadsa fun and easy to programme with filters and arpeggiator.Great for some analog sounds, but mostly for trance/dance type sounds.Still,it has GM/GS sounds if you wish to replay midi-files!
I sound like a shill now,but had great fun outta mine.Would`nt swap...only for cs6x!!!
@fezufo It`s actually different frequencies, rhythmically pulsing through air to your inner ear,the same as speech. If you don`t like the speech/music you should quit listening! FEZUFO
@fezufo hey dude i believe people should respect all types of music regardless if they like it or not because at the end of the day its ALL MUSIC i myself like dance music "techno canned stuff! whatever you want to call it" i was simply referring to the guys statement and expressing the way i felt about his narrow minded gesture on how jst because its techno its NOT music
@fezufo which i feel is selfish because jst because HE doesnt like it or u dnt like it doesn't mean he or she or anybody has the right to say it NOT MUSIC!
great job.. i have had one of these since they came out.. i still love it, its also a tough little beast nothing has gone wrong on it (yet). You got the piano from Journey spot on. Have you got a webpage where I can download your patches?
Hi love the video, im about to buy one of these and i know you know alot about yours.. so i like alot of trance sounds do any come preset? and also can I make them and save them? i am in a trancecore band i use a korg squencer and it has 5 synth parts, could i midi control them all at the same time? and is it worth $150 for some one that's into trance?
Hi,it`s actually more techno than trance, but you should be able to get some good sounds as presets.Features heavily on filters and arpeggios. Not sure about your Korg setup, but it is a controller keyboard and should be up to the job! Not bad price either!
Would you recommend Yamaha cs2x over microKORG for analog (especially lead) sounds? In my opinion microKORG has some great sounds in it, but the small keys and lack of piano sound are it's drawbacks.
I agree with you.I would rate the cs2x over the microKORG,for a number of reasons;
61 full sized keys,GS midi compatible, multi FX,up to 4 splits, drums. If your knowledgable about programming, you can make this sound like a microKORG or indeed analog.Good luck with your choice! ;)
Plus...polyphony on the MK is 4 (2 with doubled oscillators) which is ok if you want a monosynth, whereas the cs2x has 32 and multisample drum sounds with digital filters, unfortunately you will need a sequencer to make the best of the drums.
Dude,i was convinced the second i plugged it in! The interface is soooooo easy to use! Yep,there are more expensive boards out there, but it all depends on whether you wanna "SYNTH" or a workstation/sampler/sequencer.For hands on this is the shit man!
Hi, I'm going to buy one used. But i want to know how good is the midi interface (does it have aftertouch, velocity-sensitive keys)? How can it work as a controller? I would like to use it as a controller, synth in my styduio. Could you please help me feeding back this doubts that i have?
Hi.the midi is great and sends velocity, however there is no aftertouch which could be an issue for you? For it`s own sounds this is a great synth,I`m sure you could find a use for them.
I play lead guitar but have tinkered on keys on and off. This Yamaha sounds like the thing to get. For the money, are you convinced? easy to understand settings, etc.?
is necessary to have any sound module, special pc card or something like that to use this synthesizer? or can you just plug headphones to hear what you play?
Thanks very much. These were just some of my own sounds. This synth can do way more than i showed here. The arpeggiators and filters are just awesome.I may post another video, showing some of those!
Sure, you use the limit high and limit low for the split in each voice. There are 4 voices which you can use and have different splits for.if you use the same limits (high+low) all the voices sound.Hope this helps you out.If you need any more advice or get stuck, please let me know.Always happy to help. Thanks "ritchieds",i`m sure you`ll get the hang of it.Try doubling up a pad sound then transposing -12/+12.Theres always soumething interesting comes out.I love this synth...Good luck guys!
Thanks for the comments guys.I paid £177 for this last year.I dunno what that is in $ ? maybe around the same.If your`e lucky,i`ve seen em cheaper on e-bay!!
bought this synth brand new when it came out in 1999. Love it use it in all my latest tracks check out my channel
