  • Can They use horse bedding?

  • @Thesmallpetguy If by horse bedding you mean dried wood pellets, like Woody Pet, then yes, those are safe to use with rabbits. The drying process extracts the harmful oils and resins. Also, wood pellets used for burning in wood stoves is also safe to use with rabbits.

  • I just read you can use dryer lint if it is from natural fabrics.

  • i use carefresh natural and the colored version but natrual the most and its absolutely fantastic and breed hamsters syrians and dwarfs and they just love it and its very good for the babies iv raised several litters with it and any wood pupl bedding will do

  • That's one Megalodon rabbit. lol

  • That's a huge bunny!!!!!!!!

  • it looks like a flemish giant, I have two ^.^

  • Yes, kiln dried is okay since the drying process removes the oils from the raw woods. And, it kills any bacteria, fungus, etc. that may be in the wood.

  • is kiln dried pine and spruce ok?

  • i need help.. umm how does a rabbit's home look like?? i took care of a rabbit b4 but i didnt take care of it well so it died... but i plan to get a new one to take care of it better.. if you name ur rabbit will it know its name and come to you?? sry 4 dis i really need guide

  • Thank you very much!

  • If you use a litter pan with a wire grid on top, you rally do not need any sort of substrate. A few pages of newspaper folded in the bottom of the pan, then place the grid on top. All waste falls through the grid, rabbit stays clean and dry. Compost the waste.

  • Rabbits shouldn't stand on wire. It isn't good for their feet.

  • wow, these are GREAT instructional videos. do you think you could post one with more information on what YES to use as rabbit litter? also, does it make a difference if you use the litter in a pan UNDER the cage, or as its bedding?

  • Yes, that is information I should have included. Rats! Need another video for that, I guess! Good/safe litters are CareFresh, Yesterday's News, Feline Pine, Woody Pet, and wood stove pellets. The wood products listed here are deemed safe because they've been kiln dried at very high temperatures, so all the oils are gone and the bacteria is dead.

  • Additional good choices are Critter Country and Cat Country (made from pelleted straw) and Aspen Supreme from Green Pet (made from kiln dried aspen sawdust). If you choose wood stove pellets, make sure that the pellet is a 100% wood product with no accelerants (hydrocarbons) mixed in. Similar products available at feed stores are the pelleted horse barn litters like Barn Dry. These are made from pine sawdust like the wood stove pellets.
