What is shadowless

When base set was first made, to the right of the Pokemon's picture there was no shadow and they were 1st ed. Then when 1st ed was done they removed the 1st ed sign but kept the no shadow on the picture. They then thought the cards looked too plain and added a dark shadow to the right of the Pokemon's picture. Don't know if that helps, but just google it to learn more =P

When base set was first printed they were 1st edition and they didnt have a shadow to the right side of the pokemon's picture. Then they took the 1st ed symbol off when 1st ed was done printing. Then they printed them like that for a while then thought the cards looked too plain then added the shadow. Just Google it if you wanna know more XD

actually they did.all 1st edition base sets were shadowless.i have the charizard 1st edition and that is shadowless.

1st edition base set cards are all shadowless.they are just harder to find since it was only for a short time.before pokemon was all the rage the tcg game is when the shadowless cards came out and sold out quick later on when it became popular the 1st editions were gone and unlimited came out

What? Oh you can tell if a card is shadowless by the dates on the bottom. Because trainers and energies can be shadowless too.
