@freddyretarted first of all it's a video so it's not PHOTOshopped and the goal is awesome but has been scored like that here during NHL games as well so its not fake as you say dumbass
My finnish is not so good, but listening to this makes me want to learn finnish better!! What this commentator says, and how he says it, is just sooooo funny!!
I feel sorry for people that don't understand any of this!!
Wow. That is some kind of skill. How does he (1) get the puck to lie flat on his stick , and (2) keep it there throughout the arc of the swing, while (3) skating at high speed? Even in slow motion it looks like magic.
I hope Minnesota keeps missing the NHL playoffs so he can play for Finland.
as you can see, having some "big names" in team doesn't mean that they have better team. Finland and Sweden are in finals and how many NHL players do they have?
Take a look at slovakia, they had the "best team" on paper, they lost EVERY game and ended up having 0 points. So fuck the NHL
Who cares if it is not the best players? Still this is World Championship and these players are PROUD to represent their countries. Fuck those players who says no to WC. No respect for players who "has played injured all play-offs in NHL". If they can do it in Stanley Cup, they can do it in WC.
everyone have complained about that Finland have a bad team this year without all the NHL players FUCK the complainers this is the best team since 1995!!
@ah29482 Thanks. You have some courage to say that Finns were this time better than Russia. You are not a "bad looser". I am sure we will beat Sweden today, but it will be a hard game.
Even thou Russia had much more bigger names playing in the ice than finland has, Finland beated russia like no other. Just look at russian team and the popular players they had. so it doesent matter how many NHL players sweden has, its the team spirit and how well the team works together not the background of the players. Finalnd has the same chance of winning the World championship as sweden. Oh and the most important thing ;) that score was definately legit and one of the coolest in history.
Hello, I gave my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ in the summer of 2003 because I realized that I had broken God's Commandments and that He was going to judge me by them of judgment day. The same is true for everyone reading this. The good news is God Loves You! and sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins and if you're willing to repent (turn from sin with God's help) and put your trust in the Lord Jesus only to save you, He will and give you eternal life.
@gaminkalv Its hard to do and its risky. And you don't always get an opportunity.
Its risky because you mighty drop it or shoot it in the wrong place. Also its harder to direct so if the goalie is well positioned its hard to get in the back. Also there is the threat of high sticking.
why are people comparing which country is better? You all realise this tourney is just a bunch of nhl players screwing around if they dont make the playoffs, not really a good show of a country's talent. If you want that watch the olympics, or just watch the stanley cup.
@highflyer4 And you don't realise that outside the US and Canada nobody really gives a **** about the NHL. I'm German and I couldn't care less if Marco Sturm, Dennis Seidenberg or other German NHL players win something in your little league.
We, the world, mostly care about the World Champs, even if it doesn't have all the best players in it.
@highflyer4 Well that's where ice hockey is basically played with few exceptions... North America and Europe. Maybe Europe would have been the better word.
And as for your league comparison. It's more like caring more for the Championship than for the Serie A. Why would I care about that when I'm not Italian?
And why would I care if Tampa Bay beats San Jose? I hardly know where those places are. I'd rather watch my country's national team play Finland.
@Nabend1402 Speak for yourself. I'm a Finn, I don't really care too much about this second rate tournament. Now that Finland is in the Final, I might actually watch the final.
Having the World Championships while the majority of the international stars play for the Stanley Cup is similar to the idea that the FIFA World Cup would be held every year when the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga are still on.
@Leopardipzg I didn't say there aren't *any* stars in the WC. Hell, even Finland has a 1st line center from the world's best league (Koivu). But most of the biggest stars are either playing in the NHL play-offs or hangin' out on the beach, workin' on the tan and sippin' ice cold beer.
@highflyer4 NO, this is the real shit! the stanley cup are just about money seriously, who the fuck cares? Beside, sweden has the best players anyway - the Sedin brothers and bäckström rules the nhl and bäckström that little cunt didn't even bother coming over here guess why.. no money!? oh why stand up for the team, the country who actually made my dream come true?
@highflyer4 Nash, Skinner, Tavares, Spezza, Phaneuf, Neal, Van Riemsdyk, Johnson, Kovalchuk, Ovie, yeah no talent at all XD No country gets all their best players but it doesn't mean that it's not a high-level tournament. And it's always interesting when players are playing for their home country
go suomi go!!! good luck in the finals... i was hoping that you'll beat the russians (so now we have to kick their asses once again)... and i would really be happy to see u winning the gold. I like your style of play. It's nice to watch... when czechs are out i cheer for the finns :c)
This guy got drafted 10th overall to the Minnesota Wild to join Mikka Koivu. Hell of a talent from the small country in the northern east corner of the world. NOW BEAT THOSE DAM SWEDES!! SISU
Finns deserved to win. They were the best! Russia, thanks for playing! Suppose that the Finns will be world champions. They deserve it for its excellent game!!
@sanrus2007 It's not about if the stick is higher than the cross bar, it's where the puck hits the stick. That is the stick can make contact with the puck at 4 feet high and anywhere below. This is most likely what the refs talked about when they reviewed the play. Furthermore the puck goes up into the net, not down, so it was "lacrosse-styled" in from below 4 feet. Second, the stick "almost" hit Barulin in the head? Don't you mean it didn't hit him in the head?
@sealfet No shit... I said it was NOT SUPPOSED to be counted. Imagine if players start to do that shit every time they are behind the net. the game should be renamed to cricket.
@sanrus2007 I guess you aren't aware of what cricket is. Had you said lacrosse I might have understood your point to an extent. But that goal has nothing to do with cricket.
@Yello991 No man, im not mad. Of cource its a disappointment. U am happy that be beat canada, and hoping we can beat czech tomoro. Thats fine with me. I like both team finland and sweden.
@sanrus2007 You beat Canada while getting out shot 2 to 1. 8/10 top goal scorers in the NHL (not including Crosby who had 32g/42games) did not play in the IIHF.
@oleHABSole bla bla bla... man ... i saw that article after CZE v USA 4-0 trying to say that all important players are in the NHL fighting for the Stanley cup... americans (canadiens), europeans all have players in the NHL, all are fighting for the stanley cup and all get tired after the season... where's your point?
@geblstr3m what part of '' 8/10 TOP goal scorers in the NHL (not including Crosby who had 32g/42games) did not play in the IIHF.'' did you not understand?!? lol
@sanrus2007 You don't need to be a genius to understand that it is physically impossible to throw the puck straight into the top shelf of the net while having your stick above the crossbar. Secondly, you said yourself that his stick "almost" hit him in the head. Which means it did not hit him in the head and would not be high sticking. Clearly, they reviewed the goal to make sure it was legal and upheld the call on the ice, making it a "legit" goal. Please think before you post more stupid shit.
@RioTMM There is some, starding at 0:07 "Hoii oiii, näittekö minkä maalin kaveri iskee, näittekö minkä maalin kaveri iskee, ottaa mailan lapaansa kiekon ja venäläispelaajat katsovat kentällä että herran jestas mitä siellä tapahtui. Grandlund ottaa kiekon, ottaa lätyn mailan lavalle ja tekee kyllä tekee mm-historian yhden hienoimmista maaleista. Ei mitään muuta voi sanoa. "
@dmarchionna you know what's even "cooler" (i mean weirder) - it's "MAGYAR", the language of hungary!
In Hungary people speak "MAGYAR", which is a mixture of FINNISH + TURKISH!!!
Honestly, I never heard anything that sounded weirder... I speak 5 languages, but magyar is so different from aything i knw and there is not one single word i understand or that i can relate to any other language.
Aika uskomatonta että tollain maali tulee mm-kisoissa...ja vielä Suomelle!!!Tulee Mikke kyllä nykii pisteitä NHL:ssä.Hyvä Suomi, huomenna nöyryytetään Ruotsi!!!
hes former coach says: "granlund trained this for 6 months. I said to him: keep training, and when you can do it, do it properly to make the audience go wild"
He does it so quickly because he created a more efficient way to get the puck on the blade. If you subscribe to my channel I will do a video showing the difference and how you can do this move.

according to rules, this goal was not supposed to be counted.
1. at the moment when Granlund throwed the puck into the net, the stick was higher than the goal's bar.
2. the stick almost hit goalies mask, which means it should be considered as a high sticking. Granlund was supposed to get 2 minutes for that
I agree that the trick looks amazing, but it is not a "legit goal'. at least not in ice hockey.

@RioTMM There is some, starding at 0:07 "Hoii oiii, näittekö minkä maalin kaveri iskee, näittekö minkä maalin kaveri iskee, ottaa mailan lapaansa kiekon ja venäläispelaajat katsovat kentällä että herran jestas mitä siellä tapahtui. Grandlund ottaa kiekon, ottaa lätyn mailan lavalle ja tekee kyllä tekee mm-historian yhden hienoimmista maaleista. Ei mitään muuta voi sanoa. "

@dmarchionna Japanese is the coolest sounding language ever. German is the worst.

I love Mertaranta, our best hockey reporter ever!

He does it so quickly because he created a more efficient way to get the puck on the blade. If you subscribe to my channel I will do a video showing the difference and how you can do this move.
