I just got my lower lip peirced for $27 and yesturday, the bar looked a bit bigger, but today my lip has swelled slightly, and its like digging in my inside lip, idk if its okay, or normal :/

i had a friend who had this problem once, he used a 14g at first while it was cleaning he took it out to clean and he coudlnt get it back in, so i suggested using a smaller g . think he used like a 16g and it went back in fine, i think its just cus the skin tightens back up real fast not healed back that quick, thats insane. just think bout it like stretching ur ears, under a specific size and depending on how u leave it out it can tighten up like

It's been a while but besides what type of soap or after care, have u considered the type of metal for your jewelry?

I had a one year long infection on my ears a long time back and ever since my ears are extremely sensitive. So when I got my cartilage pierced I paid for pricey titanium jewelry which gave me no problems at all.

Maybe try gold plated, titanium or other grades of metal higher than regular stainless steel. I know of people who made the switch and had much better luck.

Aha, I can't stand Monroe's. Everybody I know who has one, The skin grow's over the back. I just ended up taking mines out. I just got a Lip piercings. It's been doing good so far.

:( Its kinda disappointing, and I can't even get a tattoo cause there are traces of nickel and other fake metals in tattoos, and I am highly allergic to nickel so if I was to get a tattoo I'd have a horrrrrible reaction.

My belly button rejected, it did the same thing. It also got a bump on it, and I was told that it will go away after a while. It only caused a bump because my belly button obviously didn't like it ha. But hope your piercings work out for you :)

@silajess truthfully your body can reject any piercing. all it is, is a really bad infection where the skin will try to heal over the jewelery or try to push it out by closing up. A navel is a tough spot bc it needs to stay clean and avoid chlorine and body fluids. also no touching. besides that it should be fine. your piercer should tell you all this :]

Have you ever considered that you may be allergic to metal? Or at least certain kinds of metal? I'm that way, my ear piercings kept getting infected for no reason and it's because I'm allergic to metal. You should look into getting some hypoallergenic studs or even bone studs.

it takes like a year to heal never take out a piercing until one to two years letter all you can do is use salt solution and after a mount turn thr jewelry its not being rejected rejection is where it push's the jewelry out yours is just healing and its a mouth piercing so it closes up very fast

@darkroge ACTUALLY according to my piercer, it takes 6-8 months for a peircing to heal to the point where you yourself can change your jewelery. And I didn't take mines out to take it out. it was a matter of seconds to clean the outside of the hole. And the piercing was rejected, it was being healed over and obviously pushed out.

Mine are just like that! I got my nose pierced, and a bubble type thing started growing so I had to take it out and get it re-pierced. Then the same thing happened the second time. I stopped with the nose and got my industrial, which was the worst pain I have ever felt and the same thing happened. I got my monroe done and thats the only piercing that doesn't make that bubble grow. It really upsets me because piercings are something I really love, so I get you on this.
