God dammit people! I saved up a few hundred bucks, tried hard in school and got into a specialized high school, was gifted about a grand from family and relatives, and now about half a year ago I built a rig that's able to max out GTA IV at 1920x1080. Stop trying to run a game on your grandparents's rigs!

@DProductions2011 oh I see, well I have been told previously that the game needs a quad core processor (which I thought was ridiculous) so maybe the lack of proccesing speed along with the extra stress of running it on two cores? I don't know, but you did contridict yourself because you said with almost no success, but 25-30 is pretty decent consdering i wanted to play with the 6800gt and was getting less fps than the guy in the video.

GeForce 7050 or 7100 are slow as hell. A GeForce 6800GT is about the speed of a 7600GS. The Numbers dont have to say anything because a 7900GTX is much faster than a 8600GT.

@jayten45 Just because it's a 7 series doesn't mean it's better than all the 6 series cards and the memory is just a tiny player here.

The 6800 can proces 438 million verticies a second where the 7100 can squeeze out a mere 260 million. Texture rate is 1400 MTexels/sec for the 7100 vs 4200MTexels/sec on the 6800 and memory bandwidth is a mere 4.8GB/sec on the 7100 up against 22.4GB/sec on the 6800.

@jayten45 Well of course an 8800 is better than a 6800. I was just pointing out for you or any others that may stumble across the video that just because the first number was updated doesn't mean the GPU is better. The one thing you will get most likely is newer architecture and smaller transistor size.

I also saw an incorrect response...I'm just trying to share what I know so that other people get it right too...and don't waste money on stuff.

@jayten45 Because the 6800 is a lot better than the 7100. Just because you have a higher number doesn't mean it's better. It means you have a slightly newer generation of cards, but pretty much the worst card, and he has a top of the line card from last year.

@jayten45 Because first number is the series, like 6th series, 7th series. The higher the better usually. Next numbers show the power. Like 7200 is more powerful than 7100, and 7800 more powerful than 7600. That means 6800 =best of 6th series. Usually with nvidia its like 6800 = 7400, 7600 = 8400, 8800 = 9600. So you can say that 7100 = 6200.

@tudythegangster I have a much better computer yet i can't max it out or else it'll stutter or have ridiculous fps drops, so i have to settle for medium shadows and crappy view distance. It's a well known fact that the PC version is poorly optimized, but i didn't think it was so bad.

As for GTA IV you should be able to run it, but I doubt it will run well enough to even be worth playing. I recently got a high-end GPU for my PC and GTA IV still runs like crap, check my gameplay if you wanna see.

GTA 4 need shader model 3.0, ur card get 2.0b, playing on gta4 on ur card is impossible. im testing for my radeon 9600 Pro 256mb 128 bits, doesnt work next i was change cart from 9600pro till GF 7600GS 256MB, it work, this ge force supported shader model 3.0

Ultra is an overclocked version of it, this one was a little older, my dad bought it almost as soon as it came out, if it was 512mb, I'm sure it would be a lot better though.

I still play things like Far Cry and F.E.A.R. on max graphics, even with all my other pc parts sucking ASS.

I play Left 4 Dead and COD4 on medium-ish graphics.

And I played Crysis on this, too.
