Why are people confusing "The Dwarves' Song" with this? I get that Peter Jackson is paying tribute to the 1977 movie by keeping the Dwarves' rhythm and tone, but the lyrics aren't anything similar .

Jacksons lyrics seem closer to Tolkeins lyrics, O-er the misty mountains cold is supposed to open the song.

@JohnnyV83 Jackson only changed lyrics slightly for some poetic flow for the trailer. The song in the trailer is the Dwarves' Song from the "An Unexpected Party" chapter.

This song is "The Dragon is Cast" which is far, far later in the book in the "Gathering of the Clouds" chapter. The lyrics aren't anything similar.

The only things that the two have in common is that they're sung by the dwarves and the tune is the same. I suppose having the same tune can make it confusing.
