Thanks for uploading! It's amazing what you learn from orcas and all other cetaceans. In this case orcas as they are the main subject. But anyway it's amazing how these animals have developed such advanced and highly sophisticated relationships. As you listen you can tell the difference in pitch and other sounds between different pods and clans.
As with the language Orca's in different parts of the world eat different things. They either eat fish or they eat whales and such. The fish eaters are the ones typically in parks such as Seaworld as they are really not interested in humans as food. So that's why in some places you can swim with Orca's cause they are the fish eaters. Though living in Seaworld and having to perform all the time would be enough to make me wanna take a bite of my trainer they must get so tired of it all.
even the apex predator shark eating orcas are pretty nice to humans out in the water...theres many cases of them killking sharks that are near people, and saving people who are drowning....they are intelligent like us and they realize that we are like them in this regard, thus they dont fuck with us..
Whales and dolphins have different languages just like humans. So it's no unusual for Orca's to have different songs in different places. When Keiko was released they were worried that the whales would not accept him as he'd be singing a different language. And remember he was a trained whale so the sounds on Free Willy were probably just noises he'd been trained to make. However it was still beautiful.
Only the J, K, and L sounds could have come from the orcasound network because northern residents don't come that far south. Northern and offshore calls prob came from Paul Spong's orcalive or maybe John Ford's collection somehow.
@orkamad They are actually not keikos sounds. He always mocked sirens and birds when he was in mexico but he never started talking untill he got to the oregon coast aqurium and even then they still were not sure where he was specifically located.
@SEVENTEENCINEMA the sounds from the movie were the sounds that Keiko actually made in captivity since they used both the real and anamatronick whale. he was also from J-pod
@SEVENTEENCINEMA Actually Keiko didnt start "talking" his own language untill he was in the Oregon Coast Aquarium. While in Mexico, he mocked the sounds of birds and sirens. I really dont know if those were his actual sounds tho=/
@birdandthe I honestly don't know. I found them on my hard drive and thought would share. I think I got them from a variety of websites which now don't host these sounds
@cRaZyMeLoNz That is sooo cool I'm hoping to become a marine biologiest too...I wanna be a orca trainer at seaworld cause they used to be(idk if they ever will again) be able to swim with them and I've always wanted to swim with and Orca...but I'd love to see one in the wild I've never seen one in the wild I've only seen them at seaworld...but my Grandpa lives in Alaska and hes seen a pod of Orcas hunting samon before I envy him for that lol :D...
@UltraMagnusLovur A clan is composed of pods with similar dialects and common, but older maternal heritage. It's like your family history. You may know your immediate family as well as your extended family like cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents. That makes up your family. However there are also people you would be related to that you've never seen or rarely see, or don't have as close a relationship. That's how it is with orcas. Multiple pods make up a single clan who share
@mcarbajal65 I'm pretty sure they've been known to eat some people, it's rare but happens... and i wouldn't mind seeing them if i were in a boat... or at seaworld lol, but not be in the water with them..
lol you shud do a copy theses sounds stick the hydrophones under the sea play it back, be4 you know it you might have some killer whales heading ur way lol.
That's so neat listening to the different clans talking. They all have their own different voice, it's so beautiful. <3

@TheCocoCupcakes Orcas attack what threatens them. In any case I bet on those attacks they didn't eat those people.
