Yes these type of "Psychics" make me angry. There are real ones who get specific things, that aren't guessing or using tarot cards. I happen to be one of them. I take offense to this twit basically stealing peoples money and giving them nothing other than some random chit chat in return. It makes those of us who really do want to help others look bad. I think the tarot is really interesting but at the end of the day they are just cards. Originally they were designed as a childrens game, but it was only much until later on that people started using them as a tool of divination. Tarot cards are different from just being Psychic. She isn't making predictions, she is making connections with the client and spurring the client on to make a decision. Its not necessarily bad. In my understanding, tarot cards are simply meant to be a reinforcement for your own life changes, not to predict what will happen to you, so in this case, they did just that. Reinforced.

Argument from ignorance. You can't explain what John of god does, therefore he must possess supernatural abilities? That's no science, nor is it rational. Every single person who has subjected themselves to scientific testing have been found not to be able to demonstrate ANY paranormal abilities. Until that day, no one can claim such and in the same breath claim to be rational.

Awesome post. Though I might have also commented on how she then lengthens the reading by looking at the pictures depicted on the cards and making up some loose connection btw the picture and the situation to make it seem clearer that this all came from the cards.

I do not like tarot for money people(on or off t.v.)anymore than I like 'scientists' who treat unporven theories as 'factual'. We are also surrounded by PLENTY of THAT. The frauds(in any camp)know who they are. Honest tarot users are keeping greater knowledge and understanding as THE goal. If you experienced the REAL value of tarot(can be used right or wrong...just like a test tube!!)you would not fall for the fakes.

Science is self correcting. There are no bounds to the bullshit that people claiming paranormal abilities can say. Nor are scientists making a lot of money by faking science. Quite on the contrary, they risk losing their jobs. So no, we don't see nearly as much fake science as we see fake paranormal phenomena (which would be all of it as of yet properly scrutinized).

I use the tarot as a tool to help ME focus on ideas that can help me get a handle on my issues. It is NOT a divinatory tool to me althought it may allow aperson to understnadn matters clearly enough that the probable outcomes may seem inspired. Who is to say that pure thought is not divine???? Can't be proved, nor need it be. Science as well as the mental arts leaves plenty of room for charlatans. You cannot blame the tarot.

The word supernatural is defined as that which cannot be explained by the laws of nature. As it is impossible for us to know with 100% accuracy what the laws of nature are it is impossible to define exactly what we mean by supernatural. However I think we can be pretty damn sure nothing supernatural was going on in this clip. The only mysterious thing here is why anyone would actually phone this woman. Although I doubt she's doing any more harm than the average shrink and is a lot cheaper.
