Masses don't have emotions and recognize things. Emotions are felt by individuals and only individuals recognize things. Gratitude for assistance is only felt by individuals actually receiving assistance. Potential assistance, created by wise politicians via the creation of the institution I work for, does the individual no good whatsoever unless someone like me makes the assistance real for someone by providing him or her with access. That's why they thanked me. I made it real for real people.
Let's be absurd and say, for the sake of argument, that the whole government was corrupt and politicians and officials like me who work for them could be bought off. Who would those people in the crowd have been trying to buy off? Me or higher-ups? Answer: ME. The politicians had no power over that crowd. I had the power over them. Therefore, I deserve the gratitude my beneficiaries expressed toward me. I love them all and they were thankful I exercised my discretion in their favor.

I plan to get into politics using the greater money I'll be earning once I make the switch from housing to health services. Whether the money should have been collected or not is above my pay grade. But It must now be redistributed. The only question remaining is to whom.
I take that last question back. The only real question remaining is who shall exercise discretion as to whom the money is redistributed to. In my capacity as a housing official, I courageously accepted and exercised that discretion to the best of my ability. As the president has said, there'll be time to make profits but not until old, greed-driven institutions have been torn down and new institutions erected in their place, designed by our best and brightest to be driven by what is good, what is just. Then appropriate levels of profit will be allowed to the extent that they don't recreate the havoc among the have-nots as seen in the vid. It's a perfectly sensible, academically approved plan.
