  • seriously were did you download that? it was awsome could you please give me a link to download that program?

  • lightwave costs about a thousand dollars foo

  • @DragonBruceLee27 Student edition is about £230 - not sure how that converts.

  • @filteredvision i guess the student edition is cheaper, idk but last time i checked it was $999

  • what does render mean

  • Great. It must have taken ages to render this, unless you had a render farm: (...) "It is the story of a disillusioned alien sanitation worker, and an eventful day on the job." - lololol I thought it was chocolate milk.

  • lolz :D

  • hey how did you achive the partical system? ... when the ship picked up and dropped off the brown goo?

  • MInd telling me the rendering time???must be weeks...And surely this is already more than 800 point

  • man you the master! im on basic lightwave and i can imagine how long it took you... congrats!

  • how long did it take to render?

  • I used the network at work to hijack some PCs to render frames in the background. The users weren't even aware their systems were churning away while they were working. Couldn't say how long the render actually took though. I rendered each shot as I finished it.

  • Lol the beauty of lightwave. Nice job.

  • Great, funny work.

By the way, how long did it take to create this?

    Good luck for future projects!

  • Thanks for your comment. It took about two years of working on it in my spare time.

  • excellent! You know how to use all of the effects and tools. How do you get the "light beams" effect from lights?

I'm brand new at this and have a long way to go but really love it and want to learn!

It took me 2 weeks to make my first 8 second clip effort lol.

Must have taken you a long time to create this!

  • Thanks a lot. I did this a long time ago, so I'm a little hazy on the technical details. I believe the light cones were done by adding a second spotlight behind the one that was used for actual illumination, and it was tweaked for a feature called Steam which rendered the volumetric effect. This was Lightwave 5.6, there's probably a better way a achieve this effect in a newer version.

  • You're welcome. Thanks for the tutorial of how to do that. I'll work on it and see what I can do in version 9!

  • i dont know what version of lightwave this is,

but its really good modeling, but you need better surfacing, you could make this realistic, if you wanted

  • nice job!

  • wow, lightwave 5.6!

  • OMG you are the best!!!! great animation!! great sound!! 5/5

  • Very entertaining. Good job!

  • where did you get lightwave?

    KTx

  • I have it now and didn't cost me a penny.

    KTx

  • Uhuh....and I'm calling the FBI about your piracy :) j/k j/k

  • Hahaha you couldn't get the FBI on me because I'm English and live in England there aren't any FBI here. And I have ways to get around that kinda thing >_> hehehehe

    KTx

  • Lol. But there are authorities in Europe. xD

  • I'll play the human rights card that always works............ hehehehehe

    KTx
