i feel like lisa was not crazy, i read the book and seen the movie a good bunch of times and i feel like it was society itself at that time and the ward itself that made her crazy, it would explain why she would try to escape so many times..then again i don't clearly remember if they ever put down a reason about lisa's past it focused more on the main character

In the book, just incase anybody wanted to know. Georgina and Lisa did get out. Sussanna was realeased, because she got a marriage proposal, which did not end up working out. She and Georgina remained friends, and Georgina got married, and moved away and they eventually lost contact. Years later Susanna ran into Lisa, and she had a son, with a black man, and when Susanna asks about the dad, Lisa looks at her son and says "We don't need him," and smiles at her son. Thats the last mention of Lisa.

This movie is so real, it's just hard not to be mesmerized. Like how much eccentricity is actually crazy, or maybe everyone is crazy and for some people it just takes something to happen to break loose. Maybe some people are wired differently.. imagine being "normal" in a mental hospital, you'd be the crazy one. What IS normal?

And two, in one of the deleted scenes Lisa is reading Susie's diary and she reads a line about herself(Lisa's self) that is along the lines of Susie describing Lisa's red nails, so in a way susie's just reminding herself of how Lisa used to be.
