There's also a physical difference between Blood Elves and High Elves if you look closely. All Blood Elves have green eyes due to their pursuing warlockism or w/e you call it and High Elves have blue eyes, as they only want to learn magic and nothing more than that.

While I may be a member of Alliance, I did play a Blood Elf for a brief time. I did the quest that led to this point, and I have to say - this is the coolest thing I've seen in the game. My heart truly goes out to the Blood Elves and High Elves. Garithos, the leader of the Alliance after the Scourge of Lordaeron, doesn't speak for all of us in the Alliance.

Anyone noticed that Blizz changed Sylvanas' voice with Patch 3.2? its awful =( She sounds "old" now.. like an elderly woman. Her voice before was so haunting and badass basically lol.. why the hell have Blizz ruined her voice?

Children of the blood was actually a reference to back in the days of the troll wars, because much high elf blood was spilled against the trolls. From then on, the song was a reference to every battle or war where high elf and blood elf blood was shed.

from what i gathered reading on wiki pages, playing the game, and warcraft 3. all the elves are related, originaly called highbornes. and this was back when the well of eternity existed and kalimdor was much bigger. then one day the well exploded or something and the highborne responsible were banished from their lands. the night elves pretty much started by using druid magic and created moonwells as a source of their magic. where as the exiled highborne became high elves....
the high elves created the sunwell as their source of magic, and silvermoon as their capitol. then when the third war hit arthas and the scourge metaphorically raped the high elves. after the sunwells destruction and the city, the race was pretty much scattered through out azeroth. the surviving high elves that joined the prince of silvermoon renamed themselves blood elves, or Sin'dorei(children of blood). but there are still high elves that seperate themselves from the "Belf"

Kal'dorei are creation of the moon goddess, they have no relevance to Trolls as they existed before trolls did, Quel'dorei are the group of Kal'dorei who began feeding on the powers of arcane and were not allowed in Kalimdor to do it due to the events of Sundering that they migrated to build the sunwell in Eastern Kingdoms to feed themselves with arcane.
in fact "night elves" existed during the greatest glory of the trolls. They just weren't called night elves. They were "mystical humanoids living at night" (blizz impression)
Sin'dorei are the remaining of Quel'Dorei which swore to take revenge from Scourge where their allegiance to Naga and Illidan caused them to be banished from the Alliance that they reside with Horde now. Naga are the followers of Azshara who brought the Legion to Azeroth. Kal'dorei lost their immortality when Nordrassil got damaged during the events of Third War, not during the War of the Ancients that were 10K years ago.
She had nightelf skin at first, but when the lich king killed her she returned as a dark banshee and they used the blood elf skin and characteristics, thats why she got changed ( Because she got killed then was ressurected by the lich king)
Um....no, not even close. The Night Elf model was just a place holder for when they finally redesigned her as the High Elf she always was. She was NEVER a Night Elf to begin with.

I did tht quest also. It is awsome and she also sings it on the Battle of UC. I think while she sings it, it gives u a buff so u have Warchiefs Blessing(Thrall's buff) and her song(Sylvanas's buff)thts wht I heard I kno she sings it I just don't kno if it's a buff or not.

you need to kill enemies in windrunner spire(in ghostlands) and keep killing and looting till you get a neckalace. then right click it and so on. you don't just get the quest from her.
That's because the quest begins with a random drop from the ghosts or acolytes in ghostslands. Just take the drop "The Lady's Necklace" to High Executor Mavren at Tranquillien in the Ghostlands and enjoy
It didn't take any rehearsing evidently. They said on the collectors edition info that she pulled it off in one take and reduced everyone in the studio to tears.
the song its self is about the attack on silvermoon and the fall of the highelfs (who later became what we know today as blood elfs) Sylvanas died in that battle and became part of the lichkings army. well long story short she breakx out of the lich kings control and finds her body. she then leads more undead to do the same and creates the fosaken. The allaince views them still as scouge so the fosaken allied with the once enemys the horde. The fosaken are not evil but a lil bit pissed at humans

go do in Tranqulien(or something like that) and start the windrunner spire quest and you wil find a lady's necklace start that quest and finish the chain quests and go to sylvanus again:P
If there was one reason for me to make a horde, this was it. This is my favorite quest in the whole game and Sylvanas is also my absolute favorite character realized in Warcraft. I love this song so much I used it in one of my own LOTR fan videos for Arwen Undomiel. Vangie Gunn has an incredible voice.
actually the language the Lady Sylvanas is singing the song in is Thalassian. It is not Darassian nor is it Quel'Dorei or w/e. If you turn in the necklace you get as a drop at Windrunner Spire in Ghostlands, she will sings the song. Then one of the guys next to her will give you a book that has the lyrics in Thalassian(which it plainly states) and in English. Either way with all of my toons I have i have done the quest just to hear the song.
In a way there is an analogy betwen Tolkien's Quenya and the Thalassian and the Sindarin and the Darnassian, although a vague one. There is also a certain analogy between Tolkien's High-Elves (the Noldor) and the High/Blood-elves and the Sylvan elves of Middle Earth and the Night elves.
Linguistically the languages of Tolkien and the WoW-elve-races have nothing in common, however, except for slight phonetical and aesthetic resemblances.
It's basically a text in Thalassian (the language of Quel'thalas, spoken by the blood-elves, calling themselves the Sin'dorei/Children of the blood). Sylvanas was the Ranger-general of Quel'thalas before its destruction by the scourge and was born a High-elf of a noble family before Arthas killed and changed her into a banshee. It's certainly not Darnassian, which is spoken by the Kal'dorei (the Night-elves, "Children of the stars").

Sin'dorei refers to the fallen elves. In Kael'thas' eyes, all High Elves are doomed already because of their addiction so they deserve the name. Just my 2 cents though.
She is an undead. She is the one that freed some of the undead from the scourge after the Lich King Ner'Zul lost some of his mental powers over the scourge. She created the Forsaken afterwards, the undead race from the horde.

I don't understand when people put up what the song means they say "loosely translated into" as if it's a real language it's derived from. Great song though, definitely adds to the depressing creepiness of both the Forsaken and the Blood elves.
well a british(or american)guy invented/created(i really don't know the word for a language made by one man)the elf language...it has grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary-but i don't think that in WoW(or other elf related games/movies) they use the actual language
According to warcraft lore the purpose of this song is to moure the losses of past wars such as the War of the Ancients; The Kaldorei (nightelf) Resistance; The Fall of Queal'Thalas; Troll Wars. These are just some examples... in reality it is for all elves who have perished.
Actually Perbes, if you watched the trailer for WotLK, Arthas puts on the helmet of the Lich King and they become one. So Arthas becomes the Lich King.
Play Warcraft 3, when you beat the expansion, he puts on the helmet, and he fuses with the lichking compleatly, he did so partly when he toke the blade frostmourne
First part you are correct second part not so much. (Not going to go into the past of the lich king cuz im lazy) The lich king was bound to the armor and sword know as Frostmourn. When arthas took up the sword it slowly started eating away at his soul, until he became devoid of all emotions and whatnot and a full bound servant of the lich king. He did not become one with the lich king (partially or fully) until he put on the helmet

After putting the helmet of Ner'Zul, the souls of both Arthas and Ner'Zul fuse together into one, becoming the new Lich King (the one from the upcoming expansion)
I did the necklace quest but never saw this. :( I handed her the necklace as a blood elf and she just blew me off saying that it meant nothing to her.

Kal'dorei are creation of the moon goddess, they have no relevance to Trolls as they existed before trolls did, Quel'dorei are the group of Kal'dorei who began feeding on the powers of arcane and were not allowed in Kalimdor to do it due to the events of Sundering that they migrated to build the sunwell in Eastern Kingdoms to feed themselves with arcane.

Sin'dorei are the remaining of Quel'Dorei which swore to take revenge from Scourge where their allegiance to Naga and Illidan caused them to be banished from the Alliance that they reside with Horde now. Naga are the followers of Azshara who brought the Legion to Azeroth. Kal'dorei lost their immortality when Nordrassil got damaged during the events of Third War, not during the War of the Ancients that were 10K years ago.

If you look at her now, she is a blood elf. Pre-WotLK they use a night elf skin because they didn't have a Blood Elf one.

She had nightelf skin at first, but when the lich king killed her she returned as a dark banshee and they used the blood elf skin and characteristics, thats why she got changed ( Because she got killed then was ressurected by the lich king)

Um....no, not even close. The Night Elf model was just a place holder for when they finally redesigned her as the High Elf she always was. She was NEVER a Night Elf to begin with.

I did tht quest also. It is awsome and she also sings it on the Battle of UC. I think while she sings it, it gives u a buff so u have Warchiefs Blessing(Thrall's buff) and her song(Sylvanas's buff)thts wht I heard I kno she sings it I just don't kno if it's a buff or not.

you need to kill enemies in windrunner spire(in ghostlands) and keep killing and looting till you get a neckalace. then right click it and so on. you don't just get the quest from her.

That's because the quest begins with a random drop from the ghosts or acolytes in ghostslands. Just take the drop "The Lady's Necklace" to High Executor Mavren at Tranquillien in the Ghostlands and enjoy

the song its self is about the attack on silvermoon and the fall of the highelfs (who later became what we know today as blood elfs) Sylvanas died in that battle and became part of the lichkings army. well long story short she breakx out of the lich kings control and finds her body. she then leads more undead to do the same and creates the fosaken. The allaince views them still as scouge so the fosaken allied with the once enemys the horde. The fosaken are not evil but a lil bit pissed at humans

go do in Tranqulien(or something like that) and start the windrunner spire quest and you wil find a lady's necklace start that quest and finish the chain quests and go to sylvanus again:P

If there was one reason for me to make a horde, this was it. This is my favorite quest in the whole game and Sylvanas is also my absolute favorite character realized in Warcraft. I love this song so much I used it in one of my own LOTR fan videos for Arwen Undomiel. Vangie Gunn has an incredible voice.

actually the language the Lady Sylvanas is singing the song in is Thalassian. It is not Darassian nor is it Quel'Dorei or w/e. If you turn in the necklace you get as a drop at Windrunner Spire in Ghostlands, she will sings the song. Then one of the guys next to her will give you a book that has the lyrics in Thalassian(which it plainly states) and in English. Either way with all of my toons I have i have done the quest just to hear the song.

In a way there is an analogy betwen Tolkien's Quenya and the Thalassian and the Sindarin and the Darnassian, although a vague one. There is also a certain analogy between Tolkien's High-Elves (the Noldor) and the High/Blood-elves and the Sylvan elves of Middle Earth and the Night elves.
Linguistically the languages of Tolkien and the WoW-elve-races have nothing in common, however, except for slight phonetical and aesthetic resemblances.

It's basically a text in Thalassian (the language of Quel'thalas, spoken by the blood-elves, calling themselves the Sin'dorei/Children of the blood). Sylvanas was the Ranger-general of Quel'thalas before its destruction by the scourge and was born a High-elf of a noble family before Arthas killed and changed her into a banshee. It's certainly not Darnassian, which is spoken by the Kal'dorei (the Night-elves, "Children of the stars").

This is NOT the same elven language created by JRR Tolkien (Famous author of the LOTR Series) its kaldorei, quel'dorei, or sin'dorei alike. Odds are its Quel'Dorei because Sylvanas was an elf of Quel'Thalas, however if she is singing in the language of the original song then it would be Darnassian

Originally thought to be a lament to the Fall of Quel'Thalas,or possibly the Troll Wars,Lament of the Highborne is a tribute to both these events and more.The original song may have actually been in Darnassian, but given the similarities between it and Thalassian, this is probably a moot point. The song also often uses the word "Sin'dorei" or Children of the Blood. aka Blood Elves. This song and its cultural importance is probably the reason why Kael'Thas choose to give the surviving High Elves the name Blood Elves aka Sin'dorei.
Sin'dorei refers to the fallen elves. In Kael'thas' eyes, all High Elves are doomed already because of their addiction so they deserve the name. Just my 2 cents though.

She is an undead. She is the one that freed some of the undead from the scourge after the Lich King Ner'Zul lost some of his mental powers over the scourge. She created the Forsaken afterwards, the undead race from the horde.
She is my Queen in the game, being an undead rogue myself :)

I don't understand when people put up what the song means they say "loosely translated into" as if it's a real language it's derived from. Great song though, definitely adds to the depressing creepiness of both the Forsaken and the Blood elves.

According to warcraft lore the purpose of this song is to moure the losses of past wars such as the War of the Ancients; The Kaldorei (nightelf) Resistance; The Fall of Queal'Thalas; Troll Wars. These are just some examples... in reality it is for all elves who have perished.

Actually Perbes, if you watched the trailer for WotLK, Arthas puts on the helmet of the Lich King and they become one. So Arthas becomes the Lich King.

Play Warcraft 3, when you beat the expansion, he puts on the helmet, and he fuses with the lichking compleatly, he did so partly when he toke the blade frostmourne

First part you are correct second part not so much. (Not going to go into the past of the lich king cuz im lazy) The lich king was bound to the armor and sword know as Frostmourn. When arthas took up the sword it slowly started eating away at his soul, until he became devoid of all emotions and whatnot and a full bound servant of the lich king. He did not become one with the lich king (partially or fully) until he put on the helmet
