  • Natalie Portman's friend was the most annoying person on screen last year for me.

  • @BenGriffithsReviews Couldn't agree more!!!!!! She was a waste of money to cast. Friggin Kat Dennings.

  • I just saw it and i absolutely loved it!

  • These Avengers line-up movies may not be the best movies in the world (for example, I'd say I like Goodfellas more) but these are definitely the most enjoyable. I especially like how they make these movies feel connected without feeling like sequels, you can watch one without watching the one that came out before it

  • "There's very few of us that can pull off being a Norse god"... I know the feeling. You guys crack me up; good reviews too.

  • I watched this on DVD and after watching Captain America my expectations were HIGH for this movie and to me, Thor was a let-down. It just seemed like the movie was dragging on.

  • Totally agree with Natalie Portman being the only let down in the movie, see was shithouse.

  • Anthony Hopkins can take the biggest piece of shit and turn it to Solid Gold!!! Full Price!!!!

  • Is thor in your top 5 fav superhero movies cuz mine are

    5. The Incredible Hulk

    4.Iron Man 2

    3.Iron Man

    2. Thor

    1.THE DARK KNIGHT

  • @mrcomicbook I agree with ur superhero standings!

  • @TheTrueDimension thank you!:D Ive always thought that marvel makes better movies than DC.lol. Unless, if they're made by Nolan or snyder.

  • @mrcomicbook Can't deny that at all. Marvel has really stepped up! I really hope Captain America is good! :) Can't wait for Man of Steel either Nolan and Snyder (TOOO EPICC!)

  • @TheTrueDimension I read an early review and they gave cap america 3.5 stars out of 4. saying it's as good as the first iron man and that chris evans was fanstasic as Cap. I can't wait for man of steel! Remember when we saw grindhouse and said" Rodriguez and tarantino are teaming up? That is epic!" The man of steel seems like the superhero equilvelent of that!

  • I agree with the 3-D comment. This was my first 3-D movie, and I got more 3-D action from the Pirates of the Caribbean trailer. EVERYTHING is in 3-D nowadays---such an overuse of technology. Then they have a recycling box outside the theater for the glasses. So what? They wipe them off, repackage and re-sell them? What a scam.

  • @ballsoutballistic So true, so true!

  • "We're grown men."

    "Not really -"

    Love it.

  • Ah yes Thor God of cheese! Can't say I liked it. The cast acted okay, the movie was very predictable and I know "What did you expected?" but still I just lost interest very fast. 3D awful and costumes looked bad. However the after credits scene I actually found a bit interesting and I will mostly check the next movie because of eyepatch fellow! Great review ;)

  • Was that thing in the middle you metion Hawkeye?

    Ah, sorry... Spoilers

  • Enjoyed it. The tazer/Injection/reversing car joke did get played out. They should have stopped at the Taser. It did kill in the cinema though. Everyone was rolling. the "Xena, Robin hood... "line was a killer too. Hemsworth, best casting in a marvel movie since Chris Evans as Human Torch and Downy as Stark. Overall great movie.

  • Great review, Schmoes. You guys do a great job of giving a thorough review without giving away anything. And I now realize we have the same taste in movies. I hate the over the top stuff (lasers and cars crashing) but it sounds like this movie has both. Schmoes give this bad boy 4 out of 5 Schmoes? Yeah, I'm seeing it! Summer is here!

  • I like the shiny new rating you just put up!

  • 2 actions scenes in the whole movie.... PLENTY of love story BS tho...

  • Comment removed

  • Watched Thor on opening day Friday and thought it was absolutely awesome. Can not wait for Avengers! Joss Whedon directs and the cast is awesome! What did you think of Jeremy Renners cameo as Hawkeye? I was a bit disappointed because he didnt do anything.

  • @LalidatorClan I guess we just have different tastes in movies duder, sorry you didn't enjoy it!

  • @LalidatorClan That's funny that you were expecting a superhero movie to make sense. Just sayin.

  • @LalidatorClan You're a GIANT DUMBFUCK who doesn't know what they're talking about.

  • Just saw Thor. It was freaking awesome. The humor was great. The action and acting were stellar as well. Just a great movie to definitley kick off the summer season. Now can't wait to see Captain America and see how the Avengers will turn out.

  • This was a perfect way to open up the summer. Loved it. Did anyone think of King Authur at all, haha?

  • This was a good super hero flick. Did a good job explaining the "world' of Thor, loved the acting, cool effects, decent story. My only compliant was the ending, it felt so inconclusive it was like"ALRIGHT COOL!..... wait the movies over? okay :P".

  • Great review guys, how do you guys think it compares to other Marvel movies like Iron Man, The Incredable Hulk, Spider-Man etc?

  • So, i was wondering about what you guys think about Mark Ruffallo being cast at the Hulk in The Avengers. Overall i think that he is a better choice than Norton, but at the same time they have changed him in every movie while keeping other characters the same.

  • @TheSilverScreener I dig the casting of Hulk. Apparently Ed Norton was a big pain in the ass and they had to replace him. I happened to like Norton as the Hulk and really enjoyed the last installment but if Ruffallo makes a big impact (no pun intended) maybe we can have another Hulk movie

  • Thor was good, but I was still disappointed. I felt they turned Thor into a chick flick and the Norse god of thunder deserved better.

  • oh no this is earth, isn't it? tht was a terrible impersonation

  • i saw Thor, it was good and had good story, and the action was sweet. Hemsworth did a great job, the frost giants looked amazing, but kat dennings lines were unnecessary and a little forced

  • I'm still afraid (yes afraid) to see it.

It's just hard for me to believe that they can do a truly epic story like this justice, I'm still having nightmares from that horrendous cameo they had of Thor in the Hulk series in the 80's.

  • I enjoyed the movie. It didn't take itself too seriously (thanks to the bits of humor sprinkled throughout). Effects were beautiful, characters were great, sound was amazing. A solid 4.1 out of 5 Schmoes.

  • this movie was awesome!!! it was one of my favorite Marvel movies right up there with iron man 1. Some of the humor felt unneeded but it wasnt as bad as the annoying parents in transformers 2

  • @FarCry21 Let us know what you thought

  • @schmoesknow I was not really excited about seeing this movie, but I'm going to take a time out this weekend to watch it. Cool review as always

  • Just wondering, aside from Portman being kinda weak, what were some of the other things that didn't work in the film, for example jokes, scenarios, etc (if possible with the least amount of spoiler info). Thank you !! I'm seeing it later this weekend. Oh and thanks for the heads-up on Imax!

  • @choicedecision For me thecheesy jokes aka anything Kat Dennings was involved with was lame

  • not good enough there wasent any superhero stuff in the movie and thor spends 90 percente of the movie flirting with jane would someone innox me what happend after credits cause i was to quick to run out of that shit to see it)

  • @ultimateblaze23 Sorry to hear it man

  • @schmoesknow thanks ,, i was probably expecting too much anyway :)

  • I agree. Natalie Portman is so above these types of movies, that it didn't look like she was taking her character serious. I'm guessing, with her pregnancy, she was trying to stock up on roles for her inevitable acting hiatus.

  • @traydevon Was she pregnant yet when this was filmed?

  • @schmoesknow Don't know. Just a guess based on all the silly movies she had come out all at the same time.

  • Seeing it with Dad & Max... Have a feeling their two reactions will be quite different!

  • @GabnDad You never know!

  • What are your favourite Marvel films?

  • What are you're favourite Marvel films?

  • @RLMonkey13 Mine (Kristian) is Xmen 2, Ironman 1, Spiderman 2 and I really enjoyed the last Hulk

  • great film loved it

  • 2 coolest things Natalie ever did: 1) nude scenes in that movie I can't remember because, let's face it, who cares. 2) the rap with The Lonely Island

  • wow i was for sure this movie would suck but with all these good reviews i am definately going to see it

  • Look forward to hear what you think

  • The movie was a short film called Hotel Chevalier and the rap is pretty damn amazing

  • im sorry guys...but the movie wasn't that good....the scenes with thor and his father made the movie for me....lets hope captain america is better.....the part that thor is flying reminds of superman. Portman was ok in the movie she feels out of place. the movie was very predictable.

  • @superman161 I agree with Portman stuff, I actually agree with everything you said I think I just enjoyed it more

  • funny as hell bros good stuff

  • @freeza458 Thanks man, appreciate that

  • Darcy was the main weak link of the film and her annoying pop-culture quips got long in the tooth.

I agree with Kristian that Hemsworth(full package actor,it seems based on this evidence) about Portman being the weaker actor in their romantic scenes together. This year so far, no chemistry has touched Damon's and Blunt's in TAB.

I disliked:the overuse of Dutch Angles, Darcy, romantic subplot(didn't convince, for me-was stronger from his side than hers) and some of the humour. A prologue film

  • @sunnygirly2k4 I agree with everything you had problems with but I loved the Asgard stuff so much

  • Okay, I'm convinced. GEMME TO A MOVIE THEATER I'M SEEING THOR!!!

  • @IDaCashman Did you see it?

  • @schmoesknow Well not yet I'm in school. Besides, mom wants to see a movie for mothers day, and the other day Grandparents are in town...so it would kind of be rude to go see Thor this weekend. And then school Monday-Friday. BUT THEN I'M GOING TO A MOVIE THEATER FASTER THEN YOU CAN SAY...Ummm...what's that gigantic 189,000 letter chemical name?

  • @IDaCashman Your mum should like it just fine, Chris Hemsworth has an allergy to shirts in this movie.

  • @NIN3LIVES She already decided on Rio a while ago.

And that is one hell of a weird allergy.

  • I might check this movie out when it comes out onto DVD.

  • @killerrodan Should be a fun dvd

  • I thought Thor was ok, but I'm really banking on Capt. America. It was tough to accept Thor out of his home setting on earth, and you do end up with some of that unnecessary humor. 3D: I've never felt it added enough to warrant paying extra EXCEPT for Tron. Tron was the only time 3D made me jump (when they shoot that gun into camera to retrieve Flynn's disc from his back.)

  • @JakeHolman78 Well yeah when movies are shot for 3D and they aren't converted, it works.

  • i enjoyed this film but i think that the parts on earth dont work, the parts in asgard were great but earth sucked. all the actors did a good job.... jeremy renner, i didnt know that character was in this film im not goin to say for people who havnt seen it. but its a fun time, not as good as any of the previous marvel stuff, but fun 3.6/5.0

  • @TheNoodle97 The Earth stuff bogged it down a bit but the Asgard stuff was so amazing it justified the 4.0 out of 5.0 for me

  • I really want to see this film now!

  • @civilwarfare101 Let us know what you thought after you see it!

  • Natalie Portman is in everything now...

  • @thePANDEMlC Yeah I think we won't see her for a long time after Hescher comes out

  • 4 WOW nice, that's huge for you two :p

  • @TTHEBLACKR0CK Hey we will give credit when it is due!

  • Cant Wait To See it! Nice Review:)

  • @lindz111 Thanks Lindz

  • Love the review, I'm hyped seeing this now.

  • @mrebyers Can't wait to hear what you thought!

  • It's my favorite movie of 2011 for sure.

  • @BlazeTheMovieFan So far so good this season of movies

  • Great review!

  • @mrjimmyos Thanks jimmy

  • Seeing it at an IMAX tomorrow! :)

Anthony Hopkins for a father?! Holy crap. I can't imagine.

  • @tselliott It would be pretty damn cool

  • excellent video guys this one is at the top of the unclecow list do wish u guys coluld make longer vids

  • @unclecow Well that is why we started our podcast! An hour each episode. We are shooting three this weekend, We will talk Star Wars and interview with actress Bonnie Somerville

  • i've watched it twice already and that's the first time i've paid to watch a movie twice at the theatre...that's how much i liked it. then again i'm biased because i love comic book movies anyway but yeah...go see it it's great.

  • @musicfiend99 Glad you enjoyed it

  • if thor is a NORSE god, how come he has a british accent and lands in new mexico?

  • @markust1994 No comment?

  • you look like a french clown.. with that white cap and all shaved.. That's not an insult.. just an observation

  • @alittleolder LOL it is hard not to take "french clown" as an insult

  • @alittleolder My hair is erratic right now, cut me some slack

  • Anthony Hopkins yells at u and makes you question life.... classic

  • @theredknite1 Seriously though, he guy is no joke

  • By Odin's beard! Wasn't Mark in a Carfax commercial?

  • @MyAnkleTheLeprechaun He was indeed, go to our favorites and you can find them in there

  • before i watch this, are there any spoilers? :o

  • @riseofhonor No, we NEVER spoil movies

  • @schmoesknow the humor was funny

  • @realjohnnystorm Hope you enjoy it!

  • @tierahmisu Well you are more responsible than us for sure!

  • Man, I can't believe how many great reviews Thor is getting. I really have to see it now so I can do a review on it. I'm still not getting my hopes up too high but I hope it's an enjoyable movie. As for the humor, well hopefully it's not too annoying. Truth is if it's coming from Kat Dennings, I'll probably like it even if it's dumb. I think she's cute but her boobs are beautiful. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, whoa... hey, um... great review guys! I'm anxious to see this!

  • @StuffedBurritoEnt Hope you like it, let us know!

  • im so happy this movie is getting good review, now just nail Captain America, and the Avengers will be set

  • @SpiderFan3 Agree they really need that one to work

  • I actually quite liked the humor in this one, there was just the right amount of it in my eyes.

But yeah a 4/5 sounds about right for this, very solid and enjoyable superhero movie.

    Great review guys.

  • @ExchangeBand Thank you, it was a lot of fun

  • was the action good? I know people dont like the way that it was filmed on an angle, did that bother you guys or not really?

  • @MikeBannShow Nah I didn't really notice it, I liked the style of it

  • I like how you threw up the shocker when before you started naming the 3 realms Ellis. Lol

Great review guys. I'm really excited for this. I would have to say Captain America is my number 1 that I want to see, then this, then X-men First Class.

  • @minutemancl Both good choices

  • Wow... 4/5 from both of you.. Might actually check it out on IMAX now. Btw the new green lantern trailer looks great - I am actually excited about this movie now ( more than Thor or cap America)

  • @lifeaquatic2000 I have to check out the latest trailer for GL

  • I keep telling myself only 1 month until Super 8. God, this summer movie season looks terrible.

  • @Tebay71 You think? I think it looks so much better than last year

  • @schmoesknow It does for sure, but I'm most likely only gonna dish out cash to see Super 8 at the theaters. Everything else I'll rent or watch online. Keep up the good work, Schmoes!!!

  • who want to se breaking dawn frist day!!! HELL YEAH!!!

  • @luisalexander70 Ha, well send us the review

  • only Captain America is left, GREAT JOB GUYS

  • @johncy11 Cap America, Xmen, GL, we could be in for some fun stuff

  • If my dad was Hannibal Lector, I would NEVER piss him off.

  • @jkolness1994 Well said

  • I believe Green Lantern (or i'm just really hoping lol) will be the best comic book movie of the year. It looks like it will be entertaining but with the great reviews for Thor I'm not sure if any other comic book film will beat this, this year. I cannot freaking wait to see Thor. I'm freaking pumped. Great review guys!!!

  • @D2atlbravesfan Thank you man, appreciate it, hope you dig the movie!

  • @D2atlbravesfan the latest trailer looks really great - if this is 75% representative of the actual movie then I am sold. I think they really nailed the looks of many characters like Sinestro and Kilowog. But I still hate that plastic green mask worn by Hal Jordan! Also, why is this not on IMAX??

  • If Anthony Hopkins yells at you, then you question life ... lol good stuff. Natalie Portman might as well have called Thor, Anakin, also hilarious. Just a great review, keep up the good work.

  • @Jacory44Williams Thanks Jacory, thanks for the nice words

  • The only Marvel movie I've liked so far is Spiderman lol. I hope Thor is going be tight when I see it.

I think Transformers 3 would have good sound effects, I meant the first one made me flip out of my chair lol

  • @PdubzCrew Trasformers sound and effects are always pretty good I will give it that.

  • @schmoesknow

    Agreed

By the way good review. The anthony hopkins yell at you part was funny lol

  • very depressed that you now have to many fans to reply to in the comments.....ohwell, i was thoroughly entertained cheers lads!

  • @mrhammer1777 Not true good sir, we were at a screening of Something Borrowed, would have rather been answetring comments from you guys trust me

  • Comment removed

  • Im am sooo surprised you guys didnt work any Thor puns into the review... really no thor out of five stars??? no? =\

  • @FOOZ3R This is true, I should have

  • loved the asgard to chuckie cheese comparison ahahh, I am READY to see this, great job schmoes, startin off the summer with a kickass review

  • @TheCinemaTologist Thanks man, looking forward to seeing what you have to say about it!

  • how was the other girl? The one who acts as the comedy relief. The chick that says "this is going on facebook, smile!"

from the trailer, i can't help but think she'll just be dropping one-liners all over the movie.

  • @expIorer5148 I didn't like her but Ellis did and she is pretty much a non factor in second half. She is not Jar Jar by any means, just a bit silly.

  • Out of all of the reviews you guys have done, y'all came up withe same schmoes score. And finally I got to see Mark not using his GPA system. LOL

  • @birdmansurge I know, it is an epic moment in Schmoeville

  • @schmoesknow LOL!

  • Hey guys would you want to take part in an interview conducted by me?

I would really appreciate it guys :)

  • @JoshTheCritic A little tough right now Josh, summer movie season kicking in. We will see what we can do!

  • @schmoesknow

ok can I message you the questions?

  • "We had to watch on youtube like idiots." Or I don't set through credits like an idiot, save time and see it on youtube.

  • @brandonlamchops there is just something about watching it on the big screen

  • CUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So can Green Lantern top Thor??

  • @Santito13 if done right, green lantern will probably be a better movie then thor and one of DC;s best.

  • @imdetamilboy Don't disagree with this, GL could be epic beyond words

  • @Santito13 Maybe, Hemsworth was really good and brought Thor to life, let's hope the same is said of Reynolds and Hal Jordan

  • In all honesty, I liked this film more when it was a goofy comedy. You guys are not good critics, at all.

  • @EllenHoust You are right, we are not critics at all. Just dudes who watch movies and have opinions. Never realized that Thor was a goofy comedy. Thanks for the wonderful feedback!

  • Glad to hear you guys liked it so much. Like Batman Begins, I'm guessing the good stuff will be the story and characters rather than the action and effects.

  • @CineRam Actually the action and effects are pretty heavy but there is a goos story and characters to boot

  • This was a great movie, personally. The acting was pretty good, and I loved all the fighting. Hopefully it won't be the last good comic book/superhero movie. I'm really looking forward to some of them...and I really want to hear what you guys think of Insidious. Or at least one of you two.

  • @drgnrdrgrl We promise, we will review it on dvd

  • great job once again i also like the new additions of animations and texts are nice and refreshing.

  • @raiden968 Thank you!

  • I don't really like Natalie Portman and I seriously wish they would stop putting her in stuff. Other than that I'm looking forward to this one.

  • @Garrison64 Well Natalie has
