I agree w/ u all. All georges music have meaning in my life also. I am 40 now, I loved the 89s. George always has so much emotion when singing. The songs come from his heart. He is such a talented artist. I will luv george even when I am 80.xx
@popperette39 I couldn't agree with you more. I am 40yrs old now but when I was a teenager, I lived & breathe for Boy George. :-) My mother was upset, but I didn't care, I had to be ME.
A hauntingly beautiful song. I loved this song when I was 11, and now it takes on an even deeper meaning. Boy George is a Brilliant artist. God I miss the 80s so much!! So glad I was a part of it!
I Miss the '80's!!!!!!! Boy George,Spandau Ballet-alot of great talent came outta the UK.Just watched the actual video of this song, then this clip from a concert-I can understand why George was very chocked up and melancholy singing this song. That said, he did a good job. Thanks for posting this. beautiful melody. :)
George has a unique and formidable pitch of the voice, but he has never had such a great voice "extension" when performing live, I can say it after seeing him so many times in his concert. unfortunately. but we can always enjoy the rest, though
Yeah, he really did. This has been the case with a few of these live videos I've seen thus far. Very often, songs are recorded in a higher key for better hit potential. As a result, they're rather hard to pull off live. They should drop the key to facilitate a better live vocal performance.
One of my favorite songs. Remember this song growing up. Listened to this song on and off throughout my life. Now I'm 45. Fabulous performance. Wished I was at this concert.
Those were the days. All of Boy George songs have great meaning behind it.
I could not agree with you more! Growing up in the 80's, I loved Boy George's songs and this one is my absolute favorite! I am now 36 and every time I hear this song I am taken back in time..to a time I cherish and still long for!
Was George crying in this performance??(cos he seems always squeeze his nose and the mood so down )I just feel he was feeling really sad when singing this song and the words was talking to Jon.and I saw Jon had little bit ashame when eyes on eyes with BG......it make me cry too...poor Boy George...
wow.. he is the only one of his kind.. so amazing.. how can such a person truly exist? i am so indebted to him.. purely for being who he is.. my life is that much richer!
Can't bystand all the people, stand them on their own, they will fall to pieces, so we watch them go into strange and pretty faces I don't know... A Great ballad by the group. To bad it only made it to US Top 40 in 1985, still, I hold this song dear as ever!!

I LOVE George and this is my all time favorite Culture Club song. I've waited years to hear a live version...checking on YOUTUBE every so often, hoping someone would post. And finallly...its here. Now, will someone please remove it? It is truly awful. Its almost as if George is trying to punish us or something. :(
I'm sure you do realize mistake n. 3 is sung mostly on high notes... very high for a man. and you do realize that by now he had song about 10 songs already. The only fault I find is a stronger backing. Of course there was no Helen.
great song and great voice. i LOVE George!

@ale71att: You seem to be trained in music theory. Can you explain what is meant by vocal "extension?"

he had serious problems to sing this song live, and hitting the high notes.
