it could be played with more emotion and care. probably, small nuances in timing, tone and intensity that achieve this are more easily achieved when you play a little slower. Speed and technique are admirable, but in the end music is about what moves you...
everyone needs to shut the fuck up about "non-musicality!" is that how you rationalize jealousy? yes this performance isn't note-perfect, but speed is a legitimate interpretation, and I think Shinji does a great job here. Besides, can anyone play at this level and dedicate all their time to a piece like this and not have "musical" sensibilities? I don't think so. They are there: the contrasts, the colours, the phrases - maybe your ears are too slow!
For the most part, he has good technical skill (there were a few moments when it was lacking). However, there is so much more to playing classical guitar than just technical skill. It is impossible to play well without good technique, of course, but you need more than that to be a great player. Slow it down, Mr. Shinji, and feel the music.
u play much more tehnique then me...but is missing something... where is forte on the sheet must played forte.....where is piano must play piano... u are better then me but learn to not play like robot and you-ll become very good :)
whats great about looking at comments on this website is all the people that feel the need to make it known that they have played whatever song it is they are watching. best guitarist in greece of 2007? what? who cares? fact is. he plays this a bit fast. for a live performance, it's stellar. but still, it would be a bit more musical and hopefully cleaner if he slowed it down just a bit. Dyens video of this is the absolute perfect way to play. Makes sense huh?
oraaa jajaa pinche chino webon.... no ke teknika perfecta???!! sorry.... jajaja fucking chinese.... you sucks a looot!! serkinWizzzard said's:... thats too fast. fast? you think that youre better than roland dyens?? beep (error) you must learn more teknike... enjoy the music!! dont play that great song like... a bricklayer... (no tokes como albañil!!!) aki en mexico eso es denigrante.. asi ke saludos... jajaja
Wow man he even play with is little finger it's rare to see someone play with this finger. I personnally think that he play very well and I would really wish to learn this kinda song!
I agree sounds very good to me as well, they can say all the bad they want but i bet anyone who says bad on it cant play even the easiest classical songs well.

Is this guy a guitar player or a guitar sport man? I think he ruined most of the piece because he wants us to see how fast he can play and because of that he missed some notes and I hate how he changed the beat before the part with the bands.

c'est surtout ANTI musical... remarquez son "expression" lorsqu'il joue, seulement de la technique, encore de la technique, toujours de la technique...
I think the speed is proper. It would work with a slower tempo aswell. However it does make the intended expressive feeling. It's a "fuoco" after all!
kida reborn is right,he plays very clean and fast, but just see the roland dyens interpretation and you ll se that little details that we are talking about
really don't know why people can't control their speed in this piece...too fast! Everything gets missed, while it's full of beautiful things to let the audience hear.
i don't care what anyone says. This guy clearly has talent, and drew out the raw essence behind the music

Your technique is just perfect. Now what about posting a piece where there is some (other kind of) music to be expressed ?
dadalaidou 3 years ago
not perfect at all. at 1:45 he totally fails.
ewd34 3 years ago
I'm talking general technique (of course technique can improve at any level) -not local mistakes --really not important, especially there.
dadalaidou 3 years ago
I'd be happy with just the one screw up like that in a live performance

sure he misses notes here and there and at times he gets a little sloppy, but peeps i play this for are always impressed by it.
maybe its appeal is in its rawness...if thats a word.

Yeah, he didn't miss one... He missed almost 30 notes and all the tone...
panosfromgreece 4 years ago
You can't talk about tone watching such a highly compressed video. And his playing was near perfect.
